The conclusion was, the speaker could not produce bass. You can check if the bands are suitable on Will My Phone Work. Not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this, but I've been looking for somewhere to tell people about this.

Try doing it from the default launcher. Abdul Farooq says 7 years ago. 6 inch android phones questions I wouldn't know where to start with flashing and rooting and custom roms. I found this interesting, I benchmarked battery life between the fit and the buzz, here's the results:
Yu Yureka Black
Again it gets confusing with the Mi4, 4i, 4c and 4s. Anyhow, I set it up, and was surprised it took only 1 image. I'm fine with this as I would've tried to do it anyway, but now I'm wondering if I factory reset the phone in order to sell it, will it revert back to the Chinese 'version' of the phone and lose Google play etc?
Mobile phones under 1000 rupees (with images and specification)
I'm an iphone guy, I'm at the point of being sick of ios issues and generally bored with apple, so I am going to use this to enter the world of Android Of all the Chinese phones I have had starting with a THL which was all the talk on this forum years ago, this is the one I like the best. If you end up buying a phone from chinavasion, be sure to check carefully the freight method as the default is free postage which will take weeks. If I had that kind of money to spend on a phone, I would be looking for top models of Samsung, LG or Xperia, as the latest models of these phones are superior to Chinese phones. What confused me was that the new Jawbone UP2 app also had an issue at the same time as our handset update was released and it wasn't until I swapped the UP2 for a Fitbit Charge that I found that the Buzz update had broken BT4. I have to say the lightest wipe with a microfibre cloth totally cleanse it. The Buzz has almost the same specifications as your Y but has more onboard storage 8GB vs 4GBa slightly bigger battery, illuminated soft buttons and a newer version of Android.

14.02.2018 - The fact that you have the tracking number dosn't mean its on its way, it just means that the supplier has allocated it a DHL number. Foxtel's just paranoid about people trying to stream from phones to a TV. Not sure they needed two 5. My friend has P and the camera shutter is really slow. The speeds are consistently better. About your order, I am sorry to tell you that as the phone is a hot sale product and for the large quantity, the manufacturer does not supply on time, then the shipment for it is delayed.

18.02.2018 - Please keep in mind that there are many more phones in range of Rs. Kaifi Azmi says 7 years ago. Most of the cheap Telstra branded handset have external antenna ports. Surprisingly fast to lock with good accuracy. I looked at the specs on Vickmall. It would be interesting if you could move to a location where both phones are connected to the 4G tower and rinse and repeat the tests.

I bought the buzz mainly for the Monster headphones, but figured I can use this as a second phone. What do people normally use a second phone for other than work purposes? Activate the sim that came with the Buzz on freedom plus and you'll get a 5gb data bonus valid for 28 days.
You now have a decent 4gx pocket wifi for all your wifi devices. Install Here and download offline maps and you get a 4. I use mine mainly as a workout phone since you don't want your flagship phone to get all sweaty and possibly dropped a few times.
I might not even bother with a flagship phone in the future since these cheap ones are plenty fast with decent battery life for my use. Hi there, I've juts picked up one of these as a secondary phone and am surprised at the quality and functionality for the price.
I am unable to find the option to do this on this phone. I had a Y when they were cheap and the biggest flaw I found with it was only around 1. You could set it to install apps directly to sd card easy enough.
It shouldn't be any faster though than the Buzz, because the Buzz uses the exact same system on chip. The screen I believe is ips on the Y, so should have better viewing angles and might be a bit better to look at despite having the same dpi.
The only other budget phone with an ips screen that I could use to compare against is the Sony E4g, but I doubt the Y is in the same league as that phone's screen.
I've had the Fit longer, and has been through a few more battery cycles, so perhaps that helps a bit. You still wouldn't think that it would achieve around 2 hours better. The rest of the phone seems almost identical, same screen, same mah battery, same crappy quality camera etc.
Just ordered one of these purely for use as a cheap GPS but I was wondering if everyone is still receiving these with headphones have the headphones sold out?
Just checked OzBargain and 2 people received theirs with headphone on Friday so it seems like the headphones haven't sold out yet. Both are actually excellent scores when compared to other results: My only qualm with that benchmark is that it uses the CPU primarily and isn't really indicative of real world performance.
The GSMarena endurance rating is good but they seldom test these cheap handsets. I don't think it's possible with the stock launcher and I have the same issue with my Nexus 7.
You'll probably need to install a more customisable launcher like Nova:. You'll probably need to install a more customisable launcher like Nova: Ordered a Black and White phone on Saturday. Received the black one today with a set of headphones.
No sign yet of the white one on its way. I assume that I will get the headphones as my invoice says: I was supposed to receive mine today. According to Star track tracking it was on board for delivery today.
Then it went back to depo. After numerous calls, I finally got out of them that Telstra had sent an Email requesting that it be 'return to sender'! I've tried all afternoon to find out what is going on but I am getting the usual run-around.
Almost a wall of silence. Lucky you, my receipt doesn't have that on it, even though they were "Included" right through checkout. However the two Buzz phoens in our house can see each other via Bluetooth.
So while I suspect it's a Bluetooth protocol issue does the Buzz use a special protocol that isn't widely available or something? I don't think any battery benchmarks are.
I think it just a way to compare against other phones. I haven't found their tests to be indicative of real world battery life either. I like the GSMarena one because they test talk time, web browsing and video playback separately to come up with the aggregate score.
I value the web browsing and video playback results since that's what I use my handsets for most over any other tests out there but that's just me and we all have different requirements.
Yeah their tests must be a best case scenario, I have no idea how some of the phones achieve the numbers they get. So I don't think their numbers are good indicator of real world use either.
Thinking of returning, getting this, looks like it has message alert LED can anyone confirm thanks. Lumia's don't offer that, they want you to use glance instead.
Have you tried glance? Though the buzz is a much better phone than the Lumia Yep used glance, i like the clock at night handy, both have 1 gig ram which is good, and 5mpx camera.
Battery seems better in the Buzz though. Just got my Buzz with the free headphones. Enjoy mate — glad you got the headphones. Going to use mine as an Audiobook player with a micro-SD as well.
Only issue with this is the volume on all droid phones is a bit low. If you use it more like dumb phone, the is better with power-saving mode. For smartphone use then the buzz should get 2 days of moderate use easy enough and better than Lumia.
I'd take the buzz everyday over the Faster processor, better apps, and flash on camera. I found this out the hard way after trying to use it with multiple android phones: Several days ago I tried to order online, at the end of the process after I pressed "submit" or whatever, got a brief on-screen message saying there was a payment failure, order status is unknown and to check my bank statement.
All too hard, I won't be bothering further — top ordering system That was the only way to get Optus 4G mHZ at my house. My Zenfone 2 was getting 2 bars Optus amaysim 4G signal when they were side to side, Buzz was on E dge all the time.
Has anybody ordered multiple units and got headphones for each phone ordered? What sort of adapter would I need to get? Or never heard of an adapter for headphones buttons. I would love to know if there's an adapter that allows the use of both the mic and the buttons on iPhone-centric headsets on Android You can't lose, beat valued smartphone.
Don't forget the free 5gb sim activation. Is that with the included sim? No extra recharge is required in the case of SIM cards included with prepaid devices. If you do some searching in the Lycamobile prepaid thread you may find a technique which allows tethering to occur in spite of Lyca not permitting it.
Lyca uses Telstra however and there is no guarantee the same technique will work in your case. I do know it works for Lyca although I do not use it. We ran into a problem some time back on a different phone.
Phones without MHz work fine in metro areas and large regional centres where there is MHz service. This had me stumped for a while, we even had 5 bars of signal at times but no service — I am guessing the phone was monitoring Telstra signal, not Optus.
As soon as you step into the country where there is no MHz service, the service stops. Someone mentioned before that this phone might actually support MHz. However, you'll have to play around with the secret handset menu.
Yes, I remember reading W-Farm's post, but i haven't experimented. I am actually using the phone with Telstra prepaid, but it could be handy for me if I could use it with Amaysim Optus too.
It should arrive within the next few days and I'll give this a shot. And I'll be very interested in what you discover. The phone I use for Amaysim is now pretty hopeless for internet use, hence my interest in potentially using the Buzz which is very snappy.
You should be able to enable 3G and other bands. You'll need root though. Refer to my previous post. Thank you for this information. I had read your previous posts and looked at your link. Unfortunately the process is too hard for me and I'll have to be satisfied with the phone the way it is.
But thank you anyway. Mine just got delivered via Startrack Express. Has this happened to others? Now trying to get on to 24x7 chat. Because even though the offer runs till Christmas, the headphones are mentioned as subject to stock availability in the fine print.
For those saying you can enable MHz, I doubt the phone has the hardware for it The chipset does support 3G, but there's no guarantee the antenna is capable of it as well. But they didn't come.
So it is on record. BTW this was a lengthy session, 24x7 seemed to think I was referring to the little earpiece that comes with the phone. Lucky the offer is still there so I sent them the link referring to the "Bonus Gift" Eventually the light filtered through.
I cant find where to turn on notification light? Maybe it was that priority thing i played with anyone know how? I'm using messenger for texts thanks. This phone will be my sons, so I need to restrict some apps ect.
When I go in to setting to do this, I don't have the "Users" option listed. Is it hidden somewhere else on the phone? The second issue is when I go in to system updates, the only option listed is "Storage card updates" Is anyone able to help me with this?
The headphones are pretty ordinary. If I paid the prices they normally sell for I'd be disappointed. Doss apparently there isn't a way to set up seperate user accounts, although this phone runs android lollipop its version is missing this feature.
Perhaps a hardware limitation, insufficient memory perhaps. All you may be able to do is disable apps that are innapropriate in settings apps. I read somewhere that zte are unlikely to issue any updates to the phone.
There is an update app in the app drawer. I presume if an update became available you would use this app to download it to SD card then go to settings to install it.
Presumably the one mentioned here: I checked "about phone-system-updates "and I saw that only "storage cards updates" available, it said" copy update pack to storage card for system updates".
I then used this script to remove kingroot and replace with supersu. As stated by other users it's not available by default, however if you root the phone as above you can enable it by editing the build.
You should be able to remove root once you have edited the build. I have no problems with my Telstra sim either If this is the same for all Buzz users, it looks like Telstra's firmware is causing this.
Your only choice will be to use the wifi hotspot or to replace Telstra's firmware with the factory generic one. Maybe tell others where you found it. Anyway I found it too. For information of others trying to update..
Scroll through the pre installed apps and find one called "system Updates". White with green arrow. What can I use this on? My update downloaded and installed ok went smooth I find them a bit similar to my Logitech UE, except the mids are suppressed.
The UEs have very crisp bass, the Monsters have emphasised lows and highs, and fairly unenthusiastic mids. Still, they don't really hold a candle to the Sennheiser HD I normally use with my laptop I attempted installation from the System Updates app and it seemed to be working until I got the same message as Mike reported:.
And as in his case I have plenty of space on the device and I also have a micro SD card installed. Now the System Updates app reports: System update was not completed because the package is mismatched.
I attempted installation from the System Updates app and it seemed to be working until I got the same message as Mike reported. That happened to me three times in a row last night.
Thank you for that. I notice in my System Updates app history that code is quoted at the end of the failure message. Power down phone, while holding the volume up power the phone up and it should enter recovery menu, use the volume buttons to select wipe cache, after that finishes reboot and try update again.
Yeah lots of devices like that yet my gb SD card still works. I haven't tested the buzz, but it works in the very similar ZTE fit. I doubt it's a hardware limitation.
Works fine without formatting as FAT So no need to worry about the supposed 32gb limitation. Price valid from 7 Dec to 24 Dec Okay I received my amaysim sim today and can confirm tethering doesn't work with any sim except for a Telstra one.
I received my amaysim sim today and can confirm tethering doesn't work with any sim except for a Telstra one. So i just got this phone for a family member and ended up doing the update, however now it seems to of removed the bluetooth smart function.
Any idea how i can get it back? The device they use requires this. It did work before the update too which seems even weirder. Maybe we can try it on our phones to see if the same issue exist after updating.
I no longer have the phone with me and they won't tell me the app for some reason? Just told her to keep it for a couple days and see if it changes, otherwise work something out. I have two of theses phones one updated, one I haven't yet, using this app it confirms the updated phone doesn't support BLE, while the non updated one does show as working.
They probably don't want to in case any issues arise rolling back to a previous version, sucks they don't provide full firmware roms, as it limits development. Same thing has happened to me — did the update and now can't use BLTE bluetooth low energy.
I was using it to couple a Wahoo Tickr heart rate monitor to the phone — in fact, it was the only reason I bought this phone — for the Bluetooth 4 capability. It's not a problem with any APP — it is because Bluetooth 4 capability has been removed from the phone!!!!!
My bluetooth still allows me to connect to a set of headphones — but not to a device which requires Bluetooth 4. The phone itself will not pair with the device. Have any of you managed to get Foxtel Go working with the Buzz?
I get an error message while Foxtel Go is loading — "Sorry. Video playback is not available on this device. Please turn off AllShare to continue. Given this is not a Samsung phone, I wonder why this error shows up.
I'm very interested in hearing from anyone about what happens when you install and then attempt to use Foxtel Go. Might have something to do with the chromecast stuff I have installed though.
Mobile Foxtel different app works fine though as long as you turn off wi-fi — it's unmetered mobile data on Telstra so all's good. Foxtel's just paranoid about people trying to stream from phones to a TV.
I'm having some trouble applying the update as an OTA, does anyone know where I can find it as a download that I can put on the SDcard and do the update that way? I've had a Google around but not having any luck finding it.
Have you tried setting the APN type to: I know in Kitkat and Lollipop there is apparently a tethering flag meaning that your carrier will know that you are tethering and restrict your usage.
I do not know however, if there is the ability to have a fixed tethering apn on Android Lollipop. Root your phone, instructions by Snakebyte here 2. Run the app and grant it root permission 4.
Close the application, reboot, and you're good to go. So multi user is a feature of 5. I thought it was from 5. Any other tweaks I should do while rooted? List of default bands: Here are the list of available bands you can enable with this phone: Agreed, make sure you write a reply here at least.
Would have to do something about it asap then surely? There are certain areas at work where I have difficulty getting Telstra 3g but works fine on Optus, I'll be able to check it out tomorrow to see if my phone can utilise MHz frequency.
Hi Baz, I've managed to edit the permissions to enable this feature after the update. You'll need your phone to be rooted. Copy the file and paste it in: Reboot and BLE should be working! Excuse me if i'm blind but i can't seem to find this path, where should i be looking?
Can't see any device folder. I rooted it with kingroot, then followed your steps but no device folder in SD card drive. Was in the drop down. Hmmm very tempting!! Do you have any thoughts as to why it would have been removed by the latest update??
Anyway — I have never rooted an Android phone before. So am not sure how to do this. Would much appreciate an elemental description of "how to root this BUZZ phone: The deployment of this update has been stopped as an issue whereby the Bluetooth 4 functionality is deactivated has been identified.
A fix is being developed however timelines are not known yet. The original purpose of the update was to incorporate security fixes from Android Partner Security bulletins 14 and 13 which contain additional "Stagefright" fixes.
Hi, It's a mistake and is being addressed. The final fix will take alittle time due to all the processes required to have it approved. I will update you all once I know the confirmed solution and timeframes.
Also only two users came to me and only one was from Whirlpool or Crowdsupport sites. Bluetooth issues with the Buzz 9I actually started the thread due to a different Bluetooth issue http: I will be replying to the external forum users shortly.
I have been very busy working out the issue with the team. Ok we have it sorted and understand the issue now. Two problems occurred at the same time. I was testing using a Jawbone UP2 — Jawbone broke their app and we broke the handset Bluetooth 4 function some how at the same time with the update of firmware as you correctly told us.
The update had nothing to do with BT4, but it did have security fixes Still looking at what the cause is. At some stage in the next couple of days you should see another notification that there is another update available and once you apply that Bluetooth 4 on the handset will work again.
What confused me was that the new Jawbone UP2 app also had an issue at the same time as our handset update was released and it wasn't until I swapped the UP2 for a Fitbit Charge that I found that the Buzz update had broken BT4.
So keep an eye out for the update. We just need to go through the required processes, testing and approvals before we can get the firmware released on the update platform.
Definitely worth registering on it in case you ever need assistance I must of missed the link to the forum, but i did fill out the support form on the weekend, nothing back as of yet though.
Glad it's being sorted. I downloaded and tried it and get the same error, Samsung allshare uses DLNA, the app must be detecting something and thinks it is allshare, try contacting foxtel re the app giving false allsare warning.
Obtain root using kingroot, then replace kingroot with supersu following the instructions on the link for the script. If you didn't want to keep root it can be removed via supersu once you have made any changes.
Note that is usually best to remove root before applying any system updates. You can enable this feature from build. I don't think so!! But the same can be said for the latest expensive offerings from Samsung!!
My niece recently renewed an expired phone contract and got the latest IPhone with the new contract — she seems to think that she is getting the phone for nothing!!!!
I tried formatting a 2gb sd card that's all I had handy as exFAT, but couldn't get the Buzz to recognise it. Coles has the Buzz in its latest catalog, on sale for a week commencing today.
For 10cents extra you can buy it from Telstra and get free Startrack Airlock delivery and Monster DNA headphones, which I'm pretty sure you could sell for a lot more than ten cents if you didn't want them ;P.
Haha yes have already done this as well, though it might be good to get added for users that don't like rooting or modifying their devices: Looks like the headphones may have sold out, no mention of them on the Telstra site anymore.
Just checked the website, looks like the deal is over now. I actually ordered another one on the weekend and received it yesterday with the headphones. I did exactly the same. Received my second phone with headphones yesterday after someone else said earlier that they ordered twice and received headphones both times even though the website stated only 1 pair per customer.
Blue tick is a Telstra certification for devices that have an especially good ability to get reception on their network. Performance is OK but i find the screen slightly laggy, My 3yr old Note 2 feels faster but then again that was also a flagship phone in its day.
I found that it outperforms my Note 4 in general use. That has more to do with Samsung version of Android than the hardware. It also has the advantage of a lower resolution screen.
The phone performance is great, battery life is excellent. So you can't expect it to be fantastic at that price. The poor mans iPhone is something like the Sony E4G, great screen, camera takes good photos in good lighting, excellent performance even when playing games in hgh detail and will get as good if not better framerates,.
Your's the exception not the rule. That's one of the negatives of that lovely aluminum. Haven't tested it yet, ill have to wait till next month when i get another 5gig from Amaysim to use.
Bought a Buzz recently but can't seem to find a tempered glass screen for this phone. Does anyone know if there are any other phones with the same size screen? Have managed to smash two phone screens already so would be good to prevent this one from suffering the same fate.
Did anybody try OTG usb? I try to connect my Sandisk 32g Otg usb, but can't be recognised by buzz. I just tried then and it didn't work. Might have to root it and use an app like StickMount: I bought a buzz today.
Unlocked it and tried Optus. Got 4g great everywhere except inside my house would you believe it! Sorry — but I don't understand the above. Why would you do this? There is a place inside the settings where you can select 4g, 3g, etc.
Any thoughts re the pros and cons either?? No luck with the tempered glass on ebay — I have found these for all other phones I have owned for the last few years ever since my first droid phone broke the screen back in I got an app called '4g switcher' to change preferred band.
The stupid phone was going 2G when 4G was there the whole time. So now that I have unlocked the ZTE and have got it working properly on Optus, you mean I have to root around with it more to get tethering to work??
I thought that, but I checked OzTowers and there is only and optus 4g in my area. Thinking of buying one of these phones for my Mother In law. I am guessing she would have to go to the telstra shop to get a micro sim to activate and use with her current number?
From memory only Fat I know of one user with a G microSD card formatted to Fat32 and is happy. Telstra shops or Telstra chat or calling them should relsove that tho.
Definitely go in store if you can, they should be able to replace the sim on the spot. If you can't get in, I expect chat will suggest effectively porting the number from the old sim to the new one, which will take however long porting takes, but allow use of the number on the old phone until the new one gets active.
That's what they suggested when I needed a new sim for the same number — but I just ducked back into the Telstra shop and got it done quick smart. But can that be activated with another number? I was in the same case as you, I originally had a standard sized sim and needed a micro for this phone.
Went into a Telstra shop, showed them the old sim, provided ID that I owned it, and they just transferred everything to the new sim. Worked immediately after putting it into the phone too. You can perhaps get a better phone for double the price.
Only couple things would make it better if you could conceivably have them at this price point,. But I'm not gonna look at the display all day. It's for the kids. Oh, one thing I am disappointed about is the selfie camera.
I had my hopes up 'cause it's 2 MP. I bought the phone knowing it would have difficulties with other carriers, the lack of Mhz was obvious from the start. Despite the "issues" with using this phone with amaysim I would still highly recommend it over any budget phone any day.
I do have experience rooting and editing build. The fact that you have to dick with it to get it to work on other carriers and the numbers on the mtk doc giving some nice gpu numbers, at least on paper..
Again not a bad phone but little things like that us geeks look at. This does not read as a Tempered Glass screen and looks like a Thin film type protector. Or the Huawei Y is very similar in screen.
Did you find out if it is working with mhz or not? I don't think there are any tools on android for 3g, but for lte there are a few. A way around this would probably be to check if your phone still locks onto 3G inside a shopping center with thick walls.
I know my old iphone 3 didn't work well inside the shopping centers when it was on mhz only and using optus. I'm thinking of trying to unlock the Mhz LTE band on my Y because apparently it is using the same chip.
I have to unlock the bootloader though. Surely there's an app to tell you what band you're on. Anyway, I went through the motions for my two Buzz phones.
Not going 'till mid January though. I have this phone now for a while and its great, although speakerphone volume to listen too is not loud enough. I managed to find a case but i have to modify it a little.
Anyone know of a decent case with a leather outer? I bought this and am pleased with it synthetic leather: Are all the buttons in the correct spot and accessible and can you charge the phone without taking it out?
Yes, it is a perfect fit. To charge, you simply need to open the cover, the charging port is on the LHS and has a cutout in the holder. Hit Settings button bottom right. Choose Save location SD card.
I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. However when I was playing around with the phone that night, I disabled all bands except for Mhz and set the phone to wcdma only. The phone couldn't get any signal at all and kept disconnecting from amaysim service.
I may have messed it up by turning off GSM band, I have all the bands re-enabled now but I'm currently on break from work. I disabled all bands except for Mhz and set the phone to wcdma only. Optus mostly uses Maybe Ebay will have it cheaper down the track, might grab one myself since I'm using games on it a lot.
Sometimes mine wont respond and I can't unlock the thing. Eventually it works but its intermittent so hard to demonstrate to the Telstra guys I bought it from.
So it really depends on which telco you'll be using. Any ideas on getting a good case for this phone? It fits the buzz perfectly I have both, all the cutouts for the ports and buttons are in exactly the right place.
Spare battery and save unlocking if you change networks often or pick up cheap sims for data to tether. They'd have to be on slightly different frequencies. But so too the different carriers.
So I'm not sure. Suggest me which phone is suitable. I am not fond of games. Can u buddy tell me, when nokia is going to launch with android……also any model of blackberry starts from rs 6k…?
I just wanted to know if there are any android phones with devnagari script available in the market. I bought lg optimus one p a week ago for rs in karnal, haryana and is working great. Forget about these crap samsung and videocon phones.
You will not be disappointed. Even you can compare the specs. I am having olive gc triple sim mobile, i want to buy android mobile phone. I am planning to change my mobile, but after i did some research on web, i am a bit confused.
I zeroed on to samsung wave, after going through the specs, i am not able to know what processor does it have, or it does not have any. What role does processor play, and whether mobiles with so many features and 5mp cameras do without processor.
I am looking for android os based phone in the range of Rs Can you please suggest me which phone to go with in this range? Guarranted lower price than other mobile shop AND vijay sales.
I want to buy ur mobile. But i just want to know any problem in samsung Monte. Hello, i am Shankar, as i observed the comment of Mr. Santosh that the Xperia X10 mini costs around Rs. Arun Prabhudesai for carrying a very good job of helping everyone to find the best path to fulfill there desires.
Thanking you, Yours Faithfully, Shankar. Hey, nice post, dude! This phone having lot of features mentioned below. It is just around Rs. I have been reading reviews of various touch phones for last 2 years.
How do we know what is what, and which is better? Android being free os is going to rule price market. I see this too. I came across your site while looking for android mobile phones in India. Then i saw a message on your site that you need guest writers.
I am interested in that. You can check my personal blog and evaluate me. I am a BE graduate. Leave A Reply Cancel Reply. Notify me of follow-up comments by email.

Risked Aliexpress as cashrewards has 7. Phone works perfectly and is stupidly fast. Came with the global dev rom installed and all Google apps. There is a reason the Mi5 is the most popular phone in China so it cant be all bad in fact so far it is by far the best phone I have owned.
I'm glad things are improving with your P I'd be happier going with a MediaTek processor if it was at least the X20, but it's a massive bonus that it comes with stock Android. The P10 is surprisingly quick.
I don't feel any noticeable performance difference between the P and say the Snapdragon Feels faster than the There has been another update released that I haven't installed yet, not sure if that's improved it more.
Zuk Z2 and Zuk Z2 Pro added to etotalk. Descriptions appear the same despite the large price difference. How long does it normally take Bang Good to dispatch an order?
Do they use DHL? I need a seller that ships promptly if I'm going to continue experimenting with cheap phones. I've only ever bought cheap stuff with free shipping from them. I like banggood's honesty.
The One-Armed Man writes My Cubot Nore S arrived yesterday after ordering a month ago from Everbuying. So far an excellent phone with great screen. Nice clear soft plastic phone case came with the phone also.
Have bought a number of things and generally get deliries within the week of purchasing them, when shipping with DHL. Doesn't get any better than that from China.
As I liked the Vernee Thor's thinness, and the comfort of it in the hand, and that it is virtually indestructible, I bought another, for myself. I could easily have bought a UMI Touch etc, but did not want the weight of a brick in my shirt pocket.
All the medium price range phones, especially those of 5. My recently bought Doogee F5 weighs grams, and to me seems heavy, and at 5. Now some of the recent phones weigh grams. Such weight takes the pleasure out of using a phone.
In this case from Gearbest again. Ive used quite a few Chinese android phones so far and ive had no problems in terms of cellular connectivity. That being said you need to be informed and do your own research when it comes to these phone as the Frequency bands are not consistent on them.
I decided to get it to use as a backup phone, until I decide on a more expensive workhorse phone. However the OP3 is quite expensive in relation to most other Chinese smartphones. So what you guys think between my choices?
One must be conscious that when you pre-order a new release phone, — it is likely the phone will be released without some of the promised features, e. Also some phone reviews suggest that some phones operating on Android 5.
But it might not happen. So, be careful before committing your dollars to a phone without there being some reviews of it on YouTube and noting it does have the features you want. Have you considered the Le 1 Pro?
The default interface is pretty poor. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find reputable sites that review either versions including the camera. I bought an Lenovo KT from China.
More trouble than the saving was worth. But all of them gold or some other fancy finish. I just want the grey. But I suspect they don't make it in the 4gb version? Happy to only have 64gb storage. Ordered an Android Box on Friday afternoon - arrived Monday morning!
I can also vouch for Hong Kong Dreami on Aliexpress. Ordered on Tuesday last week and phone delivered on Thursday. Good seller and communication. I may be incorrect about this, but I think 4gb ram is only available on the top priced gb sd version and 64gb versions only have 3gb ram.
Grey in all versions seems to be out of stock everywhere at present. Hi all, I bought a new Mi4 from a local place here in Adelaide last week but have since received another phone from work so I'm wanting to sell the Mi4.
I have a question though, the phone has Google Play store installed so I believe the place that sold it to me made changes to the phone and did this themselves. I'm fine with this as I would've tried to do it anyway, but now I'm wondering if I factory reset the phone in order to sell it, will it revert back to the Chinese 'version' of the phone and lose Google play etc?
It might revert back to Chinese as the default language but that's the first option to set on a new phone, so shouldn't be too hard to navigate. Google Play is installed at a system level which is untouchable by Factory Reset, so it wont lose that.
The LeEco Le2 has been available for a little while. The X20 is very powerful. Interestingly, the Le2 appears to produce superior photos to the Le2 Pro.
It would be interesting to know how it compares with the camera on the Le1 Pro. Rose gold, which is slightly less painful than gold. When I had a silver le1, the front top and bottom were white for the antennas, and it looked terrible.
At least they give you gold plastic on the rose gold models. If this website is to be believed. Looks like it is only 2G on sim 2 http: If I had that kind of money to spend on a phone, I would be looking for top models of Samsung, LG or Xperia, as the latest models of these phones are superior to Chinese phones.
How many have 4 XHD and only about 1 or 2 have laser focusing cameras, but are producing under exposed photos. My Doogee F5 bought in the last quarter of last year now has a fingerprint scanner that doesn't work, and won't register new prints.
It never was very reliable right from the start. I hope the Vernee Thor fingerprint is better. Ordered on Saturday from Gearbest, it is already on it's way.
I would suggest canceling the order and looking elsewhere. Vickmall has a reputation for prompt delivery using free shipping — maybe only two weeks can take longer though if you wished to wait.
Phones with some global roms may have it. Some phones are bastardised original roms and can cause havic as in Mi3. And if you can't change to a genuine MIUI rom it's likely a fake.
Resetting it may remove Gapps but are you aware there are 2 partions and there may be a second rom in there. If the phone had the original Chinese non global rom google will most likely go.
Weirdest China phone ive seen so far Isn't that going to be so annoying, holding the phone upto your eye to unlock? Fingerprint is perfect already Touch Screen Phone Brand: Deca-core, bit CPU Models: I wouldn't worry about the no Paypal thing.
Credit card companies and banks offer better protection these days than Paypal. I tried to get my money back through Paypal on an Elephone P and they basically said 'not my problem, it's a warranty issue' and closed the claim, despite the seller not responding to emails or the manufacturer claiming it wasn't their problem either.
So yeah, no Paypal no problem. It's true that PayPal can't help in every case. However, the Refunded Returns Service is very useful if a defective item needs to be sent back to China or other places.
That's the only thing they did to help — meanwhile i'm still out of pocket for the Elephone, and had to buy something else in the meantime. Iris scanning for unlock?.. Great 4G frequency specs — good for US.
Old USb connector and no fingerprint scanner is a surprise. I'm sorry to hear about the bad experience you've had. I don't know which seller you used, but some are definitely to be avoided.
Currently dealing with Gearbest after-sales support. Something very obvious, but did you check whether the battery contacts are covered with sellotape? Blackview BV looks pretty nice, but 4.
Nope, I didn't check that. Wasn't going to use it as a "phone" until I traveled, so didn't need to remove the back. The black view phone above is one of the few Chinese android waterproof phones that run android 6.
I am very impressed with the sensitivity of the fingerprint scanner. I made 2 entries for the same finger, which makes it more effective. Like the Doogee, after the first daily reboot, it seems to want you to use the keypad numeric backup, but after that it is virtually instant, and requires no pressure.
The audio is fine, and can go quite loud without distortion, and the screen resolution seems just as good FHD. For such an inexpensive phone, we are very impressed, as are the GearBest buyers, who rated it with all 5's for every category of satisfaction.
I have no idea what Telstra's frequencies are. I have had the good fortune of never having been on Telstra. It's similar to I have never owned a Holden. If you search Vernee Thor, you will no doubt find out exactly what frequencies the phone covers.
Then search Telstra frequencies to compare. My THL t6s is beginning to do a few strange things so I am after a new phone. Netwok compatibility for any phone can be checked on http: MIUI is fine really, even more so if you swap the launcher.
Some sellers are known to install their own variant of the software which is hard to get rid of so it's good to know this store is doing the right thing. The Infocus M has been discussed previosly in this thread and has been reported as having lte band 28 can check this on willmyphonework.
Thanks okisan and kusala. Great advice there and much appreciated. The link provided by okisan to aliexpress showed the Note 3 was available from them with the Global ROM installed.
Kusala, I had come across the M in my investigation as well. If 'cost' was the top and major consideration I would have gone down the M track. I have now had a couple of lower end cost phones and had some hassles with space on both of them.
No Paypal at Aliexpress is a bit of a bummer but I do have a card I use expressly for online purchases. Has better graphics chip Only a little bit more otherwise appear near identical.
Edit — does appear antutu scores are higher 42k v 35k www. I'm using the Redmi Note 3 Pro so can vouch for that. The thing is with cheap Chinese android phones most of the time you get what you pay for.
The Xiaomi devices do tend to be head and shoulders above everyone else in regards to quality. They're still ridiculously cheap by comparison so I don't bother looking elsewhere when in need of a cheap device.
It becomes a bit confusing with so many variants of the Redmi 3. However, as you say, the S has a more powerful gpu — on AliExpress, it is usd 20 more than the Pro. If you have Antutu installed on your phone, there are some interesting stats to see in the bottom info link — best performing chipsets, best selling phones in different countries etc.
Xiaomi does very well in Asia. I would doubt that he really is an Authorised store, and the fact store is only a month old would be cautious and go with established stores with long term asscociation with Xiaomi.
Has anyone bought a phone from this online store and if so what was your experience like with them? It's guess work with most sellers, but at least they've actually made a point of explaining the difference between the ROMs that get provided, and allowed you the choice up front.
There aren't many that will do this and even less that will follow through. That said I've never used them, but I'd have no reservations in doing so. Vernee Thor owners — There was a second wireless system update, that addressed about 6 issues to do with the proximity sensor in daylight, and WiFi connection, etc.
Hadn't noticed any problem whatsoever, but nice to know Vernee are continuing to improve the software. I noticed this phone does not have "double" tap to awaken it, — though I don't know if that is a marshmallow thing.
But, so quick to press the light press power button to awaken it. Discovered it has a fast boot option, and bootup is almost instant. And when booting up, the power button only needs a quick press, unlike some phones which needs a long press to get the screen to light up.
Of all the Chinese phones I have had starting with a THL which was all the talk on this forum years ago, this is the one I like the best. It is just a delight! Are you with Optus or Vodafone?
But of all the Chinese phones I have had, I never worried much about frequencies. If their specs showed a good range of frequencies, that was good enough for me. Every phone worked well on Optus, but apparently as you state, the frequency for Telstra is not present on some phones.
Worth mentioning also that there are quite a few decent ROMs out for it too. Cuoco92 supports it, unofficial CM Reviews are all around 8. Mine will be here in a few days if you'd like to PM me a reminder and I'll give you a few first impressions.
Thanks rpalmer, I saw the message before I saw your post and followed the link to the site above. I got heaps of 'watch out be careful' from my web browser when I checked the Kimovil website.
But I see they do Paypal so that certainly does ensure some covering of the my lower back! GizChina is always releasing sponsored posts written by Umi, and even they were critical of its yellow display and its significant weight.
A better option with similar specs might be http: But double the storage but minus the finger reader. Wonder how the camera and battery life compares though. Have had my Cubot Note S for a few days now.
My first ever Chinese phone. First impressions — really quite pleased. Build quality superior to what I imagined. Nice solid feel, slim considering the huge battery, no loose buttons volume rocker as I've seen on some YT reviews of cheaper phones.
Came fitted with a screen protector and in a case too — nice bonus. Close to stock Android 5. Wifi performance is superior to my Motorola G3, which has had some problems Instagram in my house.
Battery claims to be a whopping mAh, but my Motorola wins in this department. I can't seen to change the lock-screen image though, even after Googling for solutions!! Try doing it from the default launcher.
So exit Nova and do it from Cubot's launcher. Then go back to Nova — that should work. Had the same issue on an Elephone. You'll be fine using Kimovil bro. They aren't the ones selling it, they just index all the sites and prices and shit and provide a product page with links to where to buy it: All of the sites they link are trusted sellers and buying sites.
I've used most of them. Married to Christ writes The camera actually has top notch reviews. It looks to be right up there with some of the best stock phone cameras. However after lodging a ticket yesterday I am advised: Dear Compfused, We wish to take this opportunity to apologize for inconvenience that has been caused.
About your order, I am sorry to tell you that as the phone is a hot sale product and for the large quantity, the manufacturer does not supply on time, then the shipment for it is delayed. We are extremely sorry that we can't confirm the product arrival date, but we will urge the supplier to send them to us as soon as possible.
Hope you can understand. In this case, we can offer you 3 options: If there is any price difference with the original item, we will either refund it to you on your gearbest Wallet or send you an invoice to pay for it.
However after lodging a ticket yesterday I am advised Did you order the 4gb gb version? This appears to be out of stock everywhere. Gearbest has a mixed reputation — quick delivery with using expedited shipping, but also takes orders for out of stock items without informing customers.
With some sellers it is useful to double check that an item is in stock before purchasing. If wish decide to cancel your Gearbest order, a couple of good options for the 3gb 64 gb version are. I refer to the audio of the Vernee Thor.
In one YouTube review, it was stated and shown in a music video, that a bass guitar could not be heard. The conclusion was, the speaker could not produce bass. Today, I tested YouTube videos of double basses and electric bass guitars, and the Thor plays them just fine, and doesn't even distort at full volume.
There are many good phones in that price range — though hardly any with nfc and cameras are good-okay, but less so in low light conditions. Gearbest has a mixed reputation And thanks for the links.
Not sure if I'll call for a refund or wait a bit longer. Am waiting on the 64Gb option. I bought 3 phones from them recently, and they seem to be as good as Chinavasion, shipping the next day. But you might be right in that they take payment for out of stock goods.
But do any of these suppliers actually keep stock, or do they just order it in from nearby manufacturers? I think with some of the lesser known companies, probably the latter.
Looking for a phone for daughter must work telstra or Vodafone android 5. We're not tech enough to root so something that gets updates would be brilliant. Asking a lot I know. It doesn't support 3G or, so it's useless here.
There'd be no calls on Telstra, and Optus and Vodafone would be limited to MHz, which is no good inside buildings. Any recommendations on a Chinese phone with QHD 5. Am just looking for something to run full time in VR headset so doesnt need to match our frequencies or have a good camera etc.
Pepsi phone looks alright. I had a look into it. Looks like it is a crowd funded phone. Thinking of getting one for the ohh ahh factor lol specs don't look too bad either. Did you see my post above?
According to the bands listed in the Ozbargin link, it won't work in Australia. The camera is very good. It snaps and moves to gallery instantly. Like faster than iPhone. Haven't really tested in low light yet but seems okay from just going into my store room and checking under low light.
The camera is known as one of the strong points in reviews. Got it from Banggood. Delivery took about 15 business days. I'd recommend getting a faster delivery method I'm super impatient though.
What's the sound like dude, as far as volume and quality? Not a fan of the HTC 10s lack of loudness. I was tossing up between the redmi 3 and infocus m Was going to go with redmi since it is popular, well-known, etc.
So decision changed thanks to this thread! Just ordered the m Is this really a problem? Battery should be sweet for years and by then you'll have upgraded. Agreed, the only time I like a removable battery is to remove it to completely power off a phone if it locks up.
Haven't needed to do that with any phone in the last few years though. Handy all the same but can live without it. Exactly the same situation with my Vernee Thor.
The fingerprint scanner initially worked OK, became more iffy, and now does not work at all. The scanner goes through the motions of scanning, but no longer registers fingerprints.
According to their forum, others but not all are having similar issues, and Vernee will issue another wireless update asap to solve this and other issues some are experiencing.
Hi all, looking to upgrade my father in law's phone. He is currently using a note 4 edge. He mainly uses the phone for youtube, news and camera How does the recent bunch of the larger screened chinese phones compare to an oldie like the Note 4?
Price is not that much of an issue however I do feel like some of the premium features of the Note like the pen, SD card and curved screen is wasted on him Is there even such a thing? If its a Note 4 or a Note Edge, why would you even need to "upgrade" if he's just using Youtube, News and camera?
It is a 2yo phone so looking for better camera, better battery and faster processor I guess. Anyone know out of curiosity how long it takes DHL tracking to go live?
I got the number, but nothing showing up as of yet. I think normally tracking dosn't get recorded until the parcel is actually picked up from the supplier. The fact that you have the tracking number dosn't mean its on its way, it just means that the supplier has allocated it a DHL number.
They will notify DHL when the shipment is ready to be picked up times can vary If u r in Oz, it then takes 2 to 3 days to mainland capitals and suburbs from Asia. This likely means they're not based in Hong Kong, and it's currently onboard with a chinese courier company.
Once it hits HK and is scanned you'll see updates — this is perfectly normal. Phone's already been processed in HK, so maybe I will get it tomorrow. I did pay for DHL Expedited: The fingerprint scanner initially worked.
Vernee contacted me saying they had sent out 3 wireless updates, and seem stumped as how to solve the fingerprint issue many are having. They were also caught out by a member of the Vernee forum, who verified by contacting Corning, that the screen is not Gorilla glass.
Yet the first pillar of the Vernee website, is "Honesty". How about the "Vernee Thor Violent Test" video! We had better not crack walnuts open with the screen!!! Or drop it on cement from 2 metres, or run over the phone with a car.
The phone has an alternate security feature which is facial recognition may be a standard Android 6 feature. Anyhow, I set it up, and was surprised it took only 1 image. So, now the power button is pressed lightly, the "messages" on the screen flicked up and the phone opens instantly, and I mean instantly.
I can't fathom how it can scan and match in a fraction of a second. Aren't all mobile phones Chinese made? I'd never heard of the actual manufacturer before but they'd be one of the places that makes phones and other electronics for a myriad of '1st world' brands like Apple, Samsung, Nokia, Sony, Motorola, etc.
Rpalmer92, can you provide your opinion on the rom the phone came with, and which Exodus rom did you flash to? Waiting for mine to arrive. Same thing happened happened with the Doogee F5.
But at least when questioned by a would be buyer, they admitted, "Does not support Gorilla glass". But all of their advertising and all the reviews, suggested the phone would come with Gorilla Glass.
Apparently the Vernee may also not have the fingerprint resistant coating on the screen it was supposed to have. I have to say the lightest wipe with a microfibre cloth totally cleanse it.
You are suggesting that you might not end up with what you were told you would be getting, — and you are right! That also happened with my UMI Cross. Wa supposed to have NFC, but came without it.
Later models of the same phone got it. Part of the reason why i never jump on a new phone, unless i can play with it physically first. Obviously more relevant with Chinese phones from lesser known companies.
This one looks OK minus MHz:. In this thread, there are individuals who have purchased the phone, so to clarify it is best check to their posts. See this post, below.
Others such as above have found alternate references to the mhz, and if you search this thread I think some people even confirmed it after getting one my recollection could be off, but it shouldn't take you too long to find.
Was on a special although I suspect I might receive a knockoff product? Pandawill has a poor reputation but hopefully it works out. Yeah they always say that about all the Chinese phones.
I've even had clone phones that work in Australia. No issues so far. No NFC and not a looker but very decent for the price. Good for US bands and has Band 8 which will become more important in Australia as 2g is cutoff but no Band I think that actually came from modified firmware that sellers were installing http: I just placed order for the Vernee Apollo lite smartphone from everbuying.
At half the price of a Oneplus 3 2gb less ram mindyou it was way too tempting. Infact, they compare themselves to the Oneplus3 in some of the marketing material videos floating around.
I hope you're not with Telstra, as Vernee phones don't support 3G MHz, and you won't be able to make or receive calls. I hope your experience with everbuying is better than mine.
My phone was DOA. After 4 days of no response to my emails, I filed a dispute with PayPal. Only specs I'm really bothered about is min 16gb of storage and a reputable site to buy it from. I have bought 4 phones thru Chinavasion.
Check out their website. They are really good to deal with, answer email queries quickly. They use DHL, so receive in Australia within 3 days. Also this phone frequencies Frequency: I'm trying to get my head around the frequencies needed for Optus, I've read the wiki on this site but still not quite sure if this phone will work on 3g and 4g in Adelaide, the frequencies listed on the phone are below.
You can check if the bands are suitable on Will My Phone Work. If you end up buying a phone from chinavasion, be sure to check carefully the freight method as the default is free postage which will take weeks.
They might have improved their website now, but in the past there was complaints about the DHL option being hard to find. Havent kept up with things lately. Thanks for the link, very useful and thanks for the advice regarding shipping, I'll take a good look at the options.
I looked at this site due to a recommendation on this forum. Afaik, all the newer phones discussed here with improved specs processor, ram, battery life have non removable batteries.
I actually purchased one a week or two ago from chinavasion and it was a complete POS. Poor touch recognition and you could separate the screen from the phone just by applying the smallest amount of pressure.
Mine could have been a return unit but I honestly would look elsewhere nick. The 4 phones that I have bought have been THL. Never had any issues. In the past there has been a thl thread that has positive feedback on these phones.
Bought two VK World 6" phones Flagships several months ago, and they are the worst phones we have ever owned. I even sent an e-mail to the company in China telling them this, and said I would be ashamed to put my name to such rubbish.

23.02.2018 - As others have said, about the only negatives are the el-cheapo screen but the digitiser is fine and the low end camera. Can't believe how fast it is was previously using an iphone 6. One plus 5t price in nepal of oppo - Nuances gris... I'm not trying to sell anything here. That was the only way to get Optus 4G mHZ at my house.
Tried this but it shows an error, no idea why, installed all the required drivers as well. I haven't been on the Forum for a while, so don't know whether the new start up Company Vernee and it's first phone the Vernee Thor has been discussed.
I had one of these phones sent the next day after ordering. So, the Vernee Thor is a 5" model, with Android 6 straight out of the box, a fingerprint scanner, gorilla glass screen with anti fingerprint coating, an excellent 13MP Samsung back camera — and just about every latest thing you could wish for.
Pity it doesn't have a notification LED, but most of us can live with that. For instance you could install a missed call and notification app that will provide a notification ring or sound.
This tiny Korean designed phone gets a Vodafone signal, even deep inside supermarkets or Malls Sydney. It never fails to send or receive voice or texts and runs on the GMS G2 networks.
Note Telstra is closing their G2 at the end of the year. Optus and Vodafone have made no similar claims. The received voice is loud and clear, and th microphone can even pick up a TV in the background.
Neither party would feel this was other than a normal size phone. The YouTube videos are all in Russian, sadly. It takes a few minutes to charge, and weighs only 35 grams, and has a 2 colour Oled screen, and has many of the functions an android phone has.
You may think your phone is dead when it arrives, — there are no instructions. But underneath in the second hole — to the right of the charger hole is a one time use master power switch not obvious and the purpose of the enclosed seem card tray pin there is no sim card tray is to activate that hidden switch.
The usual power switch is on the keyboard. It claims to be dual SIM. The left receptacle is for a TF memory card. The language on the screen is English. Even plays an opening and closing theme song.
The keyboard has back lighting. One think I've been very impressed with is the GPS. Surprisingly fast to lock with good accuracy. The only negative I have is that the camera photo quality is average, however this might be fixed with a different ROM.
Just came across a violent testing video for the Vernee Thor, and it seems indestructible, being dropped numerous times, cracking open walnuts and being run over by a car. I'm aware I may need to downclock the CPU a little to keep temps good.
I hear the x runs cool but so we'll see I noticed there are a few ROMs out for it which is good! Is this the one dude? Everytime I look, I always go back to the redmi note 3 pro 3gb.
For the money it looks fantastic along with the battery. The only negative is the kinda subpar camera. Maybe it's because I have a note 5 who knows. But anyway, anyone got anymore suggestions before I pull the trigger?
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm considering the Elephone P, but for that price I'd really prefer at least 64GB of internal storage. J B L writes Has anyone considered the LeEco Le2? If you manage to find the Indian version, you get the Snapdragon instead of the Helio X The camera appears to be an improvement on the one included with the previous model.
I've got a P, and after the two latest updates, the phone is fantastic. My friend has P and the camera shutter is really slow. Shutter speed is OK. Not slow but not the fastest I've used either.
Photos are detailed, but a little under exposed. Only downside with the phone is it's loudspeaker. It's loud, but very tinny. That wouldn't bother me, as long as voice audio ie, listening to a caller on hands-free isn't going to be too nerve shattering 'tinny'.
Anything in particular about the P that impresses you or you feel they could have done better? I looked at the p and it's fairly impressive. You're all going to roll your eyes, but I keep going back to the redmi note 3 pro!
The reason is the battery. We're travelling nz at the moment and we went for a 1. Both of us didn't use GPS or hardly used our phones. We both are using local sim cards so no roaming.
Either my phones needs a reset or I dont know. I have a note 5. If the camera or flashing ROMs are important to you, give it a miss. I originally had the Redmi Note 3 MediaTek and the camera was acceptable.
More recently, I had the Pro Snapdragon and despite it having more MPs, the camera was terrible for me. I think it's a good phone if you like MIUI and don't plan to use the camera. If you can wait until August, you'll be able to grab the Asus ZenFone 3, which has a Snapdragon processor, beautiful build quality and band 28 MHz support.
I've been looking at 5. The Umi Super looked great until I visited the forums and found that the camera is appalling and people are experiencing GPS issues. It's so had to find something that ticks all the boxes.
The P is impressive simply because of its feature list. Only issues I have with the phone now is camera under exposes and the speaker is tinny. But it's loud and perfectly fine for loud speaker conversations.
Actual ear piece quality is great. If you can wait until August, you'll be able to grab the Asus ZenFone 3. When you run a Speedtest, what speeds are you getting with the new phone?
Haven't got the phone yet lad so I dunno! I'm the same but, as long as I can get enough to browse web pages, load fb etc i'm happy. From memory the Mhz 4G band is only for deep wall penetration assistance anyway.
That's the one brother! Will be keen to see what you think of it when you get it man. How are Bangood for delivery etc to Australia? The Vivo X7 is looking interesting with a Snapdragon However, it's been pointed out to me that all Vivo phones are ridiculously priced.
I thought it was only their flagships, but the X6 with an old MediaTek processor stills costs too much. For example in US dollars: Agree those Vivo prices appear crazy.. If it's not signiicantly cheaper than oneplus3 I can't see it selling.
What I would love is a 5. Aside from the expensive OnePlus 3 and reasonably priced ZenFone 3 , there are very few options. I'm not responsible for any of your purchases, please confirm specifications with seller etc etc that was just the first link that came up on ebay search.
Asus Zenfone 2 Not a bad find — albeit nearing 12 mths old, with a weird Intel chip and a reportedly bad camera Also the old Huawei Honor6. Xiaomi Mi 5 fits the bill: Sorry, but that's the best I could find.
I am waiting for RedMi Note3 to restock. It has been quite some time since it runs out of stocks. Just noticed this 5. Man I'm so much more excited to receive this phone now knowing that there is a super stable brand of custom CM being made for it.
Good old Snapdragon making it easy for developers: I've never ordered from them before but they seem okay so far. Order was shipped within 24 hours but I got typical Chinese store shipping service that says days and they provided a shipping number that doesn't work so you have to email them to get your shipping updates lol.
We both must say, it is the thinnest phone we have seen. Thinner seemingly than a Galaxy 7 and it looks great, more so than videos indicate. It is also very light, but the battery is amazingly long lasting.
It is very quick in everything it does, and has been playing complex games via WiFi without the WiFi dropping out, and it did not at any time heat up. The phone didn't miss a beat on the most complex of games.
There are screenfulls of ring tones, most I had never come across on any of the Chinese phones I have had. Nice and comfortable to hold, the gorilla glass screen has a protective coating designed to resist fingerprint smears.
As you know it has an excellent 13MP camera which takes great photos and videos, with stabilisation, — but isn't good for night photography. The fingerprint scanner hasn't been set up yet, but we expect it will be efficient, as entries will be made for "three persons" using the same finger, rolled around not just dabbed as on videos.
That is how I improved the performance of my Doogee F5. The only shortcomings of this phone, is, no notification LED, and a speaker which though loud, is not bassy, but otherwise quite OK.
Is the HTC 10 one of my only options at the moment? I was running Exodus on my Oneplus One for a while. Was pretty good, so you should be happy with it. I switched to Sultan's CM for it's promised better battery life, which never originated although maybe the battery is wearing out at the same rate the rom changes gave me better efficiency Well i had it, sold it within 2 days, still keep going back to the LG G2, best phone you can buy for the money and awesome rom support!
This article about cheap phones is interesting. It probably makes sense to stick with last year's flagships. The THL's didn't have 4G at the time, nearly 12 months ago.
These have been fantastic, and never missed a beat. We really put them through their paces. We are with Boost, but looking to going to Aldi. Worst phones we've ever had.
I guess with the Chinese phones, you get to own a phone that works great for basic everyday tasks and most have dual SIM ability as well. The more expensive ones tend to have better after sales support, software updates, and better camera.
Even though the price is usually 5 or more times more expensive then cheapo Chinese Not including Huawei Oppo etc expensive Chinese, you still can't get the things mentioned even if you buy 5 cheapos.
Plus the Chinese phones can never have full support for the networks here excluding Taiwanese owned brands like Infocus. Which is why I'll continue using an expensive phone as my main phone, with a cheapo phone as backup.
I was looking at this UMI Super 5. I wouldn't find no AU plug a problem, is delivery the standard free one or are you spending more for expediated shipping. Visit the Umi forum first. The camera is appalling and there are GPS issues.
Then you're left with an expensive paper weight. Damn shame as it otherwise looked like a great phone ex NFC. Poor GPS is back to Mediatek dark old days. That's got better specs and it having the Snapdragon processor means it'll likely have custom ROMs available.
The hardware is good on their phones but the interface is terrible. Unlike with Xiaomi phones, you'll have no issue with unlocking the bootloader. Umi is excellent with its online marketing, however it has a shocking reputation.
It really looked like a great midrange offering on paper. I'm started to lean towards the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro. It's a great phone, apart from the camera.
The camera is very poor. Also, MIUI is an acquired taste. However, it is fast, has an excellent screen, and the battery is amazing. Yeah, I had the Le 1. The build quality was amazing.
I really didn't like the interface and the camera produced washed out pics. I think the camera is better on other models though. Cool, I'm confused as to size on the Pro.
I did some extensive browsing before buying my new Chinadroid and decided to go with this. There are a plethora of Custom ROMs available. Nexus ports, CM This is the phone to get at the moment guys.
My Xiaomi Mi5 arrived last night ordered on Tuesday. Can't believe how fast it is was previously using an iphone 6. Everything is just quick and the build quality is great as is MiUI.
Really surprised that no one is mentioning the Elephone P It has NFC Wireless and quick charge, small bezels, fantastic display and battery life. Initial issues with WiFi and camera have been ironed out through constant updates I actually sold my S7 Edge and use the Elephone as my daily.
The S7 was nice don't get me wrong, but the P does the job very well. Don't have any issues using it day to day. GPS works great as well. Worst case scenario just install Google Now launcher and you've got yourself a pure Android device.
Never had an issue with them and the postage is a bit faster. Just need a cheap backup 'phone', mainly for internet browsing, music gym, and to pop a local SIM card into when traveling overseas.
Another good shop is Tomtop. Choose DHL shipping they ship really quick. Ordered from Hong Kong Dreami on Aliexpress.
I originally wanted to go down this track so that I could connect a voip box ATA device via a LAN cable to utilise my phone's data allowance. The cordless phone Telstra brand contains bluetooth.
This allows you to copy your phone's address book in just a couple of steps into its memory. When making a call via the cordless phone, I am given the choice of making it via MyNetFone or via my mobile phone the Telstra Buzz.
When I leave for work, I simply take the now fully charged Telstra Buzz with me, connecting a Huawei Y in its place for others to use while I'm out. Yes, it works absolutely fine.
It just doesn't give me all the flexibility I get with the above setup. The wifi range of the Buzz phone is every bit as good as another good phone The Buzz also manages to do all of this, plus connect to my bluetooth headset which lets me talk while doing mundane tasks such as the dishes or the washing.
I didn't mean the code the public can see. Please contact store to confirm availability". Here are my 2 best speed, Note that I am not in a 4GX area and these are about the bet possible in this case.
I will try to get to a 4GX area and test. On plugging in say a USB hard drive. I paid cash, no ID required, nice fast transaction. The DSE operative said that there are plenty of these phones around at present.
His shop restocked on Fri afternoon. He also commented that Telstra is offloading this stuff now and he would be surprised if stock is still around in quantity after Christmas.
As others have said, about the only negatives are the el-cheapo screen but the digitiser is fine and the low end camera. Other than that, all good. I am quite impressed with overall speed and responsiveness, from booting up through loading apps to shut-down, all is smooth.
I auto-loaded about apps from my Cloud storage and this did not have any noticeable effect on performance after loading had completed. Battery performance also looks to be good but it's early days yet.
My main objective was to get a cheap entry into Telstra 4GX wireless hot-spotting and I must say that as a hotspot it performs admirably. The phone runs cool, much cooler than the ZTE MF91 dedicated pocket hotspot that I will probably now retire, presumably meaning that battery life will be solid.
Thanks for reporting because my last Cheap coles telstra phone died with minimal addition of apps. I did notice this battery is of a fairly large size. The latest cordless bluetooth phones that provide incoming and outgoing calls via bluetooth are cool.
Most of the cheap Telstra branded handset have external antenna ports. They are perfect for adding an external antenna to keep the phone alive in an area where an external antenna is necessary.
Connect to the stationary mobile handset external antenna connected via your bluetooth cordless. Telstra stuffed up and ported my number to the wrong sim. After 30 hours I called them and they fixed the problem.
So now i have 8. I also thought I was meant to get 5GB for a new service? I know that would be greedy. The best thing is this rolls over. So apparently because i didnt set up direct debit at the beginning i need to do it 1 day or on the day of recharge before it runs out.
StraitVodka, with respect, isn't this stuff decidedly off topic and better discussed over in the Telstra Prepaid thread here? I only got around to unboxing yesterday.
But further, I find the screen is fine. I haven't tried the camera. My previous Androids are now so slow browsing using Chrome and I find the Buzz is great.
My apps are working well, except perhaps for CSipSimple which is working although every time I get the message that it has stopped working. It only stops working if I acknowledge the message by touching OK.
So I had a chat on 24x7 about these phones and I'm very confused about whether the phone has a removable battery. I see a lot of you guys are alluding to one. The Telstra chat operator said that it did have a removable battery then apologized and said no it doesn't have one and now insists that it doesn't.
Telstra's page about the phone says the battery isn't removable under the detailed specifications section https: But I've just discovered use of Telstra credit on Google play and the joys of an extra GB when using CreditMe2U — both these things currently require me to use the sim card in my main phone, which is a hassle.
I'm very confused about whether the phone has a removable battery. It has a removable battery. As above the battery is user replaceable or removable. In fact it comes separate to the phone itself in the box.
I just got one for myself as a spare for the kids, http: Correct, as per the thread title ;. And in "About phone" Sure you're not thinking of the much older Tempo?
On a side note, when using this phone just as a pocket wifi device for the household, will it always stay on and connected when it comes to dishing out wifi assuming it's plugged in, or will I have to mess with it when I get up in the morning for instance?
They are not on display. You have to ask the sales guys. Two more left about half an hour ago. Mentioned mates rates at the cashier. If I go into a Telstra store, will they give me the same deal?
Unlike at Dick Smith they're displayed with printed price tickets as if it's a new regular price. I bought a phone anyway: Not a bad idea. I only purchased it 1week ago from Telstra store.
They could have let me know a deal was coming Docket are usually 7 days right? Couldnt help myself and purchased another: Its all your fault, and Jacks and astero's, and a couple of others: To good to pass up.
I will keep the headphones and pass the phone on to one of my extended family in the Philippines. It can take a couple of days for the data to appear. If not get in touch with Telstra. The store probably would not be aware of the headphone offer.
Try returning it, nothing to lose except some time and possibly angst: I'm tempted to get a second one myself so the wife's got a set of headphones too.. I'm an iphone guy, I'm at the point of being sick of ios issues and generally bored with apple, so I am going to use this to enter the world of Android Android has it issues as well.
Still after trying apple, ms, and android, I am hooked on android. I'm at the point of being sick of ios issues and generally bored with apple. I would not call this an awsome android phone but hey its cheap as and has mhz.
Android does not have all the annoying constraints etc that apple has. Apple, google etc are all pain in the butts. What's the approx delivery date for the Buzz? Is it really the 2 day delivery for metro locations?
Every time I have ordered sims or phones from Telstra I get it within 1 to 2 business days. I ordered the Buzz last night. They will dispatch today. It will turn up tomorrow or Friday. Here is a problem i have run into with this phone Put telstra sim in I also have the Huawei y and both sims tether fine no problems Can anybody else check this please: The headphones are all black and look to be the same model as these: I ordered mine yesterday at Arrived in Fitzroy It does sound very much like it.
Perhaps this article will be of assistance: No APN settings made no change were correct already You could surf on the phone no problem and had 4G While we do support tethering for iPhones we do not provide personal hotspots for iPads.
Depending on your mobile device, check out our Help and Support articles on how to set up tethering on your handset. So it would appear that there is a special APN that your get routed through when trying to tether.
True, but it's still a good valued phone irrespective. Its an incredible deal with the headphones. Has anyone got the white Buzz? If so, how do the two colours compare? Already ordered a black and thinking about a second one for the wife Looking from the front you see very little white maybe 2mm around sides.
I like the white. I just bought one yesterday, but only today — almost 24h later — I received a confirmation email. Getting a bit worried that 2-day delivery time-frame is not going to happen I jumped on chat to as the status of my order and they said its currently out of stock and once my order is fulfilled, I would receive the tracking details.
I jumped on chat to as the status of my order and they said its currently out of stock. That's a bit strange, you must of just missed out, mine shipped yesterday and StarTrack website is showing it in Perth today.
How many days passed since you placed your order and the package actually being delivered? I ordered Tuesday night, shipped yesterday and is showing "onboard for delivery today" this morning.
I'm in Perth so would expect us to be worse case. Hope you can help. Ive just purchased the buzz and want to know if it can block numbers?? And also can it take screen shots??
Hoping someone can help. Here's the user manual if you are keen http: I've read through it and found screen shots, still can't get it to work. I must be useless but still can't find info about blocking numbers.
Do I actually need to be at home to show the delivery driver the same ID used to make the purchase? Normally all packages at my condo are signed by the admin guy and then everyone just picks them up in their own time.
So just wondering if this one time I actually have to be present no matter what Does anyone know if you can switch the hard-keys around on the Buzz? I really would like it the other way around Crap, it's actually in my wife's name — do I just need her DL when she heads out or does she need to physically be here too?
By the looks of it you are out of luck. I was looking to do the same thing. Also can't fine tune the screen like the fit. The Buzz and fit look identical from the outside.
The Buzz has a slightly nicer backing. I think I prefer the fit out of the two after brief impressions. I've had a quick scan through the comments to see if this question has already been answered, but couldn't find anything Once unlocked to all networks, would this be a good phone to use on Optus?
Or would the missing network bands make reception patchy and unreliable? I just bought this phone because I needed one and headphones. This was perfect, except I just got it delivered and there aren't any headphones.
I really like the white colour as it's a slight pearlish metallic colour. Of course we are only talking about the back of the phone here. Headphones came included not just the small ones in the phone's box but also the Monster DNA headphones that Telstra is currently attaching to orders as a bonus, and after activating the included SIM card I have 5GB data on it already valid for 28 days.
Overall — great experience with Telstra and a great phone too — an absolute bargain at this price. And an absolute steal considering you get the Monster DNA headphones with it for free.
My widget just says "tap here to manage your prepaid service". It should show it if you're on mobile data — when it's on wifi it can't get the usage information as well. My widget just says "tap here to manage your prepaid service" Remove that widget.
Install the Telstra 24x7 app and then put the 24x7 widget on. This will show you all the info, not just data. Can someone please clarify what being locked to Telstra means? Does it mean being locked to being a Telstra customer, or being locked to using the Telstra network, but able to go through another company that uses the Telstra network — eg.
Can we unlock other network bands on this device, under the options you listed Wahroonga Farm? It does not seem to give that option which is a pain. Tethered to Rooter is fine but not stand alone.
On closer inspection of the box there was a sticker over a sticker, so I offered the unlocker the IMEI number in the battery compartment and that unlocked it. I've now received a second a second Buzz, this one from Telstra — an impulse buy, heck the headphones are worth 60 notes by themself.
So if you come to unlock be aware that the stickers IMEI number may not be the same as the one on the phone, which isn't a problem unless you persistently bang in an incorrect unlock code 10 times. I gave the unlocker the IMEI number showing on the box and the resultant unlock code failed.
Where's the hardware specs? Is this a Qualcom Snapdragon? According to ZTE's website it is Qualcomm. If the former then might be able to unlock additional 3G and 4G bands.
And appears to add Mhz 3G, as I just popped a Voda sim in and don't think that Voda does or here. Perhaps someone else can confirm this. I wonder what additional 4G bands could be unlocked?
Voda actually uses all 3, , and Got mine and insta-ordered an unlock code, screw the telstra sim included. Indeed but not all districts have all three available Australia-wide.
What we need is confirmation as the phone or modem doesn't indicate frequency info for connection. I've tested with a Voda SIM. The handset is network locked to Telstra. If you put in a non-Telstra SIM card you won't receive any service.
So if you come to unlock be aware that the stickers IMEI number may not be the same as the one on the phone,. Telstra took 2 days to dispatch, a lot unusual in my experience. On board for delivery today still within Telstras time frame and the moron driver from Star Track tries to deliver it to the wrong address.
Geez its a business address with a business name, how hard is it? Anyway now fighting with Star Track to find and deliver my phone, what a useless company!! Mine made it just on time.
Ordered Wednesday morning, got the 2nd email yesterday evening and luckily got delivered today. Star Track being themselves carded it to my local LPO Lucky I didn't stay waiting and checked the tracking status at pm The LPO is within walking distance.
I fly out of Australia for several weeks on Sunday things would have been messy otherwise chasing refunds Yes it's funny this phone is pretty much identical on outside to the fit, but the mtk SoC the fit gets performs better.
Mainly the GPU is a lot better. If you test benchmarks side by side you can watch run through the tests fast. Seems the GPU is not quite twice the speed going by 3dmarks scores.
On a side note, as someone has already mentioned, the Telstra SIM is actually quite useful to activate it as you'll get 5GB straight off the bat and I think you have a full 28 to use it too. I'm ok getting the 24x7 app via Google Play as that is one thing I actually know how to use, but how do I dump the current widget and then put the new 24x7 widget in its place?
If your mobile doesn't automatically place a new app on the main screen - do a similar thing, hold the app down with your finger and it "should" drop it on the main screen.
Where do you get the unlock code? Open your app drawer. Go to widgets tab. Find widget you want. Tap and hold on it. Place it where you want. Or on the handset itself: Looks like the replacement for this is the Y5 also blue tick which has more bands spec wise and is running 5.
Picked it up over this ZTE model. I don't see anything about the Y5 being Blue-tick, and no mention of 4GX support either on the Telstra website: According to your link it does list support for mhz band in specifications, which is 4GX.
I would find it odd that a newly released phone didn't offer support for it at this stage. Yeah the s is definitely a downgrade over the s used in the Buzz. You probably not going to notice much difference performance wise between the two in real life use except for the s does seem to be lot more friendlier on battery life.
Do you have the handset now and if so, do the specs match the Huawei website? Yeah that's the thing I found with these lower end phones, you can't trust the listed specs. Box is blue tick and there is the MHz so it is 4GX.
Nope — read the very first post in this thread, and look up the specifications for yourself:. I found this interesting, I benchmarked battery life between the fit and the buzz, here's the results: I posted on another website forum that I thought this phone was better than the Y, but having used this phone for a while, I've changed my mind and I'd say the Y is better.
But this phone is very good. Y back is so slippery, Buzz is way better soft-touch rubberised. According to this site, http: Set preferred network type: And the Buzz is much better in low signal areas.
For a solid phone with Monster headphones included, not to mention a SIM card that gives 5GB straight off the bat after registration? Super for a second phone. Anyone knows if the credit can be used for existing Telstra prepaid service and not activating the new sim?
To get the headphones, can these be purchased from a T shop, or do they have to be purchased online? If buying online it appears that one has to go through the activation process as part of the procedure.
Must order online to get the headphones and discount. I was thinking about taking the sim kit into a T shop to get that credit added to my existing prepaid service. You need to activate the new SIM.
I think you'll find that this is merely their ID procedure, so they know who's responsible for the sim they're sending out. Once received you or anyone can activate the sim in a different name provided that relevent ID is provided.
I'm finding this, but the differences are minor like the viewing angles better with the Y and as DerekG says in favour of the Buzz it goes brighter. A matter of personal choice this. The camera on the buzz has it all over the Y, but find the Y battery lasts longer, but it's early days, I've only completed one charge cycle on the buzz thus far, so the li-ion may still be settling.
With Mhz LTE on the Buzz but Mhz 3G on the Y, the difference between the handsets has to be in the eyes of the beholder and what they need it for. Both are excellent budget smartphones.
Anil Naidu says 6 years ago.
