For the stock Android lovers out there, this is a good alternative to the Pixel XL if you want some more powerful hardware. OnePlus continues its trend of throwing the best hardware aside from the screen in.
The only "downside" is the 5. Keep in mind that there's no microSD slot, so what you see is what you get. With the crazy amount of development for OnePlus phones, this phone is truly an enthusiast's wet dream.
In our review of the Mate 9 , we proclaimed that it wasn't just good for the price or good for a Huawei phone, but a legitimately good phone. Here, EMUI has been refined, and the great specs don't hurt.
This is one of the first Huawei flagships officially sold in the US with real US support, and we're glad it's made its way here. The display is a massive 5.
We got nearly three days of usage out of the massive mAh battery - that's as good as it gets. The fingerprint sensor is fast, and EMUI 5. It also comes with Amazon Alexa support, if that's something you're looking for.
That's a great deal for a phone as nice as this one, and you won't find battery life this good in virtually any other phone. Just make sure you're looking at the regular Mate 9 and not the uber-expensive Mate 9 Porsche Design.
You've reached the end of our fall buyer's guide. We unfortunately couldn't recommend the Nexus 5X and 6P due to the former's bootloop issues and the latter's battery problems, despite their low pricing and stock software.
If this list missed a particular phone you think should've been included, feel free to post it up in the comments below. Hopefully these phones give you a good idea of what to expect when you're looking for a used phone.
And hey, feel free to direct those friends who always ask for your advice on phones straight to this guide. Wouldn't recommend the Moto X Pure to be honest. Lack of software updates, after Nougat there hasn't been a security update.
No fingerprint scanner, and just boycott Lenovo in general people, they suck. Have been really happy with it for the last 4 months. Luckily i never had bootloop or battery issues with the Nexus 6p.
Hope that it'll stay that way: Then after another few weeks the phone just bootlooped over and over again. Swappa is a great alternative to other online places like eBay for example because of the various protections they offer and because it's purpose-built for phones I've always found that you can find better deals on phones in the "Last year's hotness" category just by setting up alerts on the Facebook marketplace and Craigslist to a lesser extent.
Why do you seem surprised it will get Android P? The first gen Pixel won't even be two years old yet when Android P is released next summer. The Pixel 2 phones which the author owns didn't make it?
Value can mean different things to different people Year old or older Android phones have little value to me. The key part was this guide was about used phones. I agree about nerfing the battery, but it's still a great phone, as the battery life just went from insane on the Z Play to great on the Z2 Play.
I got it cheaper than a "refurbished" one from Best Buy and those don't come with the original charger so they wouldn't be able to do the faster charging.
You can also avail this. And with eBay you get to deal with "mint condition" phones that show up with noticable scratches or dings on a regular basis. Buying from Swappa is a little more reliable, they do IMEI checks and financing checks to make sure the phone is eligible for sale with minimal risks to the buyer.
I don't think that there was a need to buy and sell smartphones in the "Stone Age," but I wasn't there either, so I can't say for sure. My vote for best bang for your buck would be the G6, especially with how cheap it's getting.
Checks off pretty much every box feature wise. Bezel-less, micro sd, wireless charging, water proof, head phone jack, dual cameras. Galaxy s7 is such a steal. While it might not interest many of us who are fans of light skins, the device works incredibly well, has great camera, incredible screen, and believe it or not, relatively timely security updates.
Add to that physical buttons which make a lot of sense unless you have bezel less display and a great battery, and you have a winner. Literally everything but the kitchen sink, was the best phone in IMO.
Glad mine's the Exynos variant: Please correct the article. Speaking of used phones. I just sent my Verizon pixel 2 XL and getting a replacement sent back.
Is it going be a new in box or one someone sent in for blue tint since that's now how it's supposed to work and no longer issuing RMA for those. Anandtech had measured results of it and it was consistently excellent.
I bet it still puts many phone displays of new phones to shame. I loved mine, but it died an early death when I cracked the screen. I still have it and may attempt a home repair one of these days.
Not only is it possibly the best LCD ever seen on a smartphone, but also the best screen ever, in general. This put's my Samsung's dingy old, burnt, green-tinted Oled panel to shame.
Thankfully, I haven't had any need to make use of them and hopefully never will. Good to go to use on T-Mobile. The key is to take care of the buyer and be honest. I sell all my used phones there.
And I get new phones all the time, so I've got quite a bit of used phones. Get an iPhone 7 plus. The A10 fusion is still more powerful than the, it has 4x as much storage as competing Android flasgships, water resistance, and stereo speakers.
The speakers on the year old 7 plus are still a little better than the Pixel 2 speakers. The GB 7 plus is an excellent value right now. Me and other X owners are offloading ours now.
So smoother, same flaw as nearly every other flagship, mah is average for a 5. No it's not lol, that battery is tiny. Samsung's phones are 2K, just like any other phone.
Hell the iPhone X has somewhat of a 2K display. Options are always good. It's not a slight camera bump when you put it on a table and it wobbles around. Also, like I said The S8 has a 5.
Samsung is actually using 3k p panels on there phone get your facts straight. But Samsung sets the default resolution to p for their phones. Burn in is an issue on every OLED screen due to the nature of the technology.
Most enthusiasts use both major operating systems. Okay, I agree the S8 has a small battery for how large the phone is. The iPhone has nothing special about it, why would anyone want to buy that trash?
It's just overpriced junk is all. It's not a matter of taking care of your phone, I've always babied mine and I've never dropped or broken a device. Burn in always happens, it's the nature of OLED.
The iPhone is far from trash there's a reason it outsells every other Flagship while costing significantly more. You still haven't addressed the significant edge the 7 plus has in processing power when compared to even current gen Android Flagships.
What about the Essential PH-1? Amazing device and my current daily driver. Even got the November security patch yesterday! Thanks for sharing such an amzing article loved to see posts like this which contains such a great content amazing stuff https: The Mate 9 is still an amazing phone after nearly 10 months of ownership.
The battery still kicks most flagships butts and it hasn't slowed down over time like some phones I've had. Camera is pretty nice too. I bought my 6p a couple of years ago via Swappa.
It arrived as advertised and it's still my daily driver. Fortunately, no battery issues. Latest news Oreo 8. Hottest Hottest Latest Comments. Middle of the pack 2. Last year's hotness 4. Tags buyer's guide swappa used phones subscribe.

Because Honor's slogan is 'for the brave'? If you'd rather not install a ROM, a different launcher is always possible. But at a quarter of those prices, everything changes. Both have passable cameras, even if they aren't class-leading.
The near-stock software, along with the powerful processor and RAM, provide for one of the smoothest Android experiences you'll ever see. Fingerprint sensors up front are quick as well, and if you take a lot of selfies, there's a flash up front.
The Moto Z is razor-thin but only has a mAh battery, and the Z Force has a larger mAh battery but has a very easily-scratched ShatterShield display. The Moto Mods are mostly useless, but the battery one can come in handy if you buy the standard Z.
This is likely owing to the easily-scratched screen, but it is possible to find ones in good condition. If you find one with a relatively untainted screen, I'd go for the Z Force. The plastic screen can feel cheap, but a glass screen protector will fix that.
The novelty of having the regular Z's super thin body wears off after about a day. At prices this low, it doesn't even make sense to recommend the Moto Z Play, which is actually more expensive on the whole.
HTC's flagship for was a good phone, but it was overshadowed by the Galaxy S7. That's not to say that the S7 was necessarily better, but they each appeal to different audiences. The 10 received Nougat last year, and it does have a decent developer scene.
The unlocked and T-Mobile models are easier to tweak, but they also go for a premium. It's a little tedious, but the option's there if you need it. The metal build feels very premium with its dual chamfers and overall heft.
The dual speakers aren't stereo, but they're still better than a standard bottom-mounted speaker. The selfie camera also has OIS, in case you're planning on livestreaming from your phone.
The fingerprint sensor is okay, but the powerful amp powers more high-end headphones through the 3. WiFi range can be a little poor, though. Verizon LTE phones have been unlocked for some time now, making the Verizon 10 a good buy even if it may be missing a few less crucial GSM carrier bands.
Just keep in mind that if you want to have root or a custom ROM, you'll need to cough up the fee that Sunshine charges if you're running anything above Marshmallow. When they launched, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge seemed like the most perfect smartphones ever released.
Samsung combined the feature set of the Galaxy S5 with the stylish design of the S6, making nearly the perfect phone. The AMOLED displays are gorgeous, build quality is premium, the cameras are class-leading, battery life is decent, and water resistance is on board.
Virtually the only downside is performance, thanks to Samsung's heavier skin. We'll be focusing on the regular S7 here, as the S7 edge still commands a bit of a premium and it's hard to use without a case.
Initial performance was alright, but these phones do bog down over time. IP68 water resistance is present, so you won't have to worry about dropping it in the toilet.
The fingerprint sensor is built into the home button, and it's flanked by home and recent capacitive keys. Battery life from the mAh cell is above average, though you will unfortunately have to charge it via microUSB.
There's next to no development for the US Snapdragon model due to just how locked down the phone is. Since the S7 was sold on all carriers, purchase whichever model was originally sold for your carrier for optimum band compatibility.
The unlocked model isn't worth the extra money, as its updates were actually slower than many carriers'. Stay away from ones that were previously repaired, as this may have compromised their water resistance.
If you can deal with some occasional slowdowns especially while apps are updating, this phone offers great bang for the buck. Devices in this range generally have very few compromises, with great performance and lots of the manufacturer's update period remaining.
These phones could realistically stay with you for a year or two, so long as you don't start yearning for the latest and greatest. In fact, one phone on this list is a flagship that is barely six months old.
Man, I love depreciation. Sony phones don't sell very well in the United States for two reasons: But when you pay less than half that amount, things get more interesting. And if you'd like to save even more money, you can look to the used market.
The XZ sports a handsome metal build, a Gorilla Glass 4-covered 5. Front-facing speakers are also here. The display resolution and RAM aren't the best in the biz, but these won't really be noticeable in day-to-day use.
What will be noticeable, however, is the absence of a working fingerprint sensor stateside. But if you're handy with a computer, you can flash international firmware to enable it.
There does seem to be quite a bit of development for the XZ, though Sony's skin is already pretty light. The XZ is a great choice if you're just looking for a decent phone all around.
This is likely due to the love that the Galaxy S8 and S8 plus got, and those two are still holding their value relatively well. Some development is there for the unlocked US model, but that's not the best value.
The real deals can be found in the carrier variants. Part of the reason why the G6 may not have fared so well in the market is its Snapdragon, compared to the S8's much improved There are two great cameras on the back, both of the 13MP variety.
One is the main camera, while the other is a wide-angle unit. The mAh battery gives it decent longevity, and US models have wireless charging built-in. Plus, it's IP68 water resistant.
If you're going to buy a G6, just grab the appropriate carrier model and you're good to go. I'm considering buying one myself purely because of how cheap these have gotten.
Make no mistake about it: OnePlus is an enthusiast brand. That's been obvious since the OnePlus One, and the company has continued to make spec monsters that don't cost a lot of money.
And because of how open the devices are, there's a ton of development for these phones. I'd imagine that many of you already have 3Ts, but I'd encourage those of you who don't and like messing with customization options to grab one as well.
The front and rear cameras are both 16MP units, and both are pretty good. It's impressive that OnePlus was able to cram all this into a 7. You'll have to settle for "only" 64GB at this price point, but that's more than enough for most people.
Do note that there isn't a microSD slot, though, so you'll be stuck with that 64GB forever and ever. It also doesn't work on Verizon or Sprint, but if you're on a GSM carrier and like to mod your phone, this is the one to get.
This category is made up of flagships that are a maximum of one year old. These are generally phones that have been well-received by the public, and have almost no flaws. Even when compared side-by-side with the newest models, these will have almost everything.
They'll also continue to receive updates for a good amount of time, so you won't be forced to flash a ROM instantly to get the latest software. While this phone isn't perfect, it's just such a pleasure to use that you can forgive its minor downfalls.
It doesn't have the most top-notch specs, nor does it have niceties like water resistance or wireless charging, but it delivers a silky smooth experience with updates straight from our overlords at Google.
The Pixel has a 5. Both are great to look at and get decently bright outdoors. The 12MP camera on the back is one of the best in class. The Pixel's mAh battery gives it average battery life, but the XL's mAh makes it go for quite long.
The speaker is pretty meh, though, and there's no water resistance to be found. But the software experience is truly enjoyable, and Google gives the Pixel software little touches here and there to make it special.
For some unknown reason, the larger and generally better XL is barely more expensive than its smaller counterpart. Considering how the XL has a nicer screen and noticeably better battery life, it's a no-brainer unless you just can't hold the 5.
Aside from the larger bezels yes, I had to mention them, you'd never know you weren't using a brand-new phone from the sheer smoothness of the software. After the debacle that was the Note7, Samsung had to come up with something good for its Galaxy S phones.
Like their predecessors, though, they do suffer from lag issues as time goes on. Supposedly the Oreo beta makes things smoother, but we'll have to wait and see for confirmation of that.
The Galaxy S8 uses a curved 5. The 12MP cameras on the backs of these puppies are as good as ever. The iris scanner on the front of each works as a decent substitute for the poorly-positioned fingerprint sensor.
Of course, we'd be remiss if we neglected to mention the stunning glass sandwich design. Both phones have dropped more than I personally expected them to given their MSRPs, but that's a good thing for you guys.
It doesn't really matter which model you buy as you can just flash the unlocked firmware through Odin, but it'd obviously be less of a headache to just buy the right carrier model. As of publishing time, the OnePlus 5 is still the Shenzhen-based company's latest phone, but that's going to soon change.
That, along with the fact that it can be found for a great price on the used market already, is why we're giving the OP5 a spot on this list. As is traditional for OnePlus, this phone has all the latest specs and few to no downfalls.

All the work is done at the local side. The HiVoice will not connect the network. HUAWEI Health records and analyzes your fitness and health data to provide you with professional fitness tips and health services.
Once generated, it is up to you to decide how to use and share your fitness and health data. For example, you can decide which data to save, how the data is used, and who can access to your data.
When you decide to no longer share or use these data, you can terminate the save and share of your data, as well as completely delete them from HUAWEI servers.
All your fitness and health data are encrypted before they are saved and transmitted. Whether to your cloud or phone, your data is encrypted and saved using a secure encryption algorithm.
All data access will be subject to your authorization. The local data on your phone utilizes a random key. To help you manage your privacy, we have provided you with a variety of tools and features.
You can enhance the security of your device with a lock screen password. Your lock screen password will be created and processed in a secure, isolated, and trusted environment. In addition, we have limited the number of password entry attempts to prevent your password from being forcibly cracked.
Your lock screen password will also be used to encrypt and protect your personal data, which can effectively prevent unauthorized storage of data without a password verification.
Your fingerprint bears your inherent physiological characteristics and can be used in authentication and other important occasions. The entire process of fingerprint image entry and pre-processing, fingerprint feature extraction, fingerprint template generation, and fingerprint authentication are all conducted in a secure, isolated, and trusted environment.
The fingerprint images will then be converted into feature templates, encrypted, and stored to a secure and isolated location that is not accessible by Android or any other apps.
Your fingerprint data will maintain in the isolated zone and will not be stored to the cloud server or anywhere else on your device. Device activation lock will automatically activate as soon as Find My Phone is enabled.
If your device is lost and your stored data is forcibly cleared by an unauthorized user, Device activation lock will require your device to authenticate through your Google account in order to re-activate upon restarting.
This prevents others from activating your device without your authorization. To protect your privacy, we have provided you with a separate encrypted space that is completely isolated from your Main Space - your own PrivateSpace.
The data in your PrivateSpace cannot be accessed by your Main Space. In your PrivateSpace, you can store your most important data, as well as conveniently transfer files such as video, audio, and image files between your PrivateSpace and Main Space.
You can also enter your PrivateSpace password or fingerprint from the lock screen for quick and easy access. There is no other way to access your PrivateSpace, so you can rest assured that your data is safe and secure from unauthorized users.
To ensure data security, data transfers between devices will be encrypted with a key negotiated by both parties. To accomplish this, HUAWEI requires the users to create strong and uncommonly-used passwords that are at least eight characters in length, containing both uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers.
Based on this rule, users can create passwords that are more secure by adding more characters and punctuations with a maximum limit of up to 32 characters. Completing the verification indicates that you trust this device.
Photos, videos, recordings, calendars, contacts, browser bookmarks, memo notes, Wi-Fi settings, SMS, calling history, harassment interception settings, cloud favorites, cloud backup data, and Find My Phone.
The names of the files you share and the names associated with your HUAWEI My Cloud account are provided only to those who are authorized to access to the shared link. Location services determines your location through GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspots, base stations, and other resources to provide you with better services.
However, this feature is disabled by default. When you enable location services, navigation guides and local weather information can be provided to you with precise accuracy based on your location.
