Any idea how I can force an update or must I just wait? Wow I've never heard of any of these watches.

The fingerprint reader is located on the back and perfectly positioned. In our tests, it worked very fast and reliably, and in addition to user authentication it supports gestures such as scrolling or sliding down the notification area.

Its average brightness of nits is comparatively high and its black level of 0. Results were similar during the APL50 test with enabled ambient light sensor. Overall brightness distribution was very even and homogenous.

If PWM was detected, an average of minimum: Color accuracy was determined with CalMAN and a spectrophotometer. The phone supports various color temperature presets or manual adjustment. The white point was too cool in standard mode, but only slightly so.

Unfortunately, this is not the case with the Mate 10 Lite. Color space coverage is comparatively small and geared towards the sRGB color space. Outdoor usability was very decent thanks to the impressive maximum display brightness.

The Mate 10 Lite remains usable even in bright daylight, but tends to aggravate its users with its highly reflective display. Viewing angles were decent overall, and we found no color distortions or ghosting even at acute angles.

A slight deterioration in brightness was noticeable, and as mentioned before the reflections can get quite annoying. That said, these three phones also come with a very different price tag.

System performance is decent and the phone not only felt fast and smooth, but also performed quite well in the benchmarks without standing out. As expected, the more powerful smartphones performed better, and the X Pro was about as fast as the Mate 10 Lite thanks to its pure and clean Android.

Only the Galaxy A5 was slower than the Mate 10 Lite. In our browser benchmarks, which were conducted with the preinstalled version of Chrome 62 , the Mate 10 Lite performed as expected. Subjectively speaking browsing the web was very fast and smooth regardless of website complexity.

It performed fairly well, but was unable to keep up with UHS equipped devices. Suffice it to say that only the Honor 9 was even slower than the Mate 10 Lite in this test. Input detection was very accurate and fast, and the sensors worked flawlessly while gaming and detected movements accurately and instantaneously.

Surface temperatures were at an acceptable level. The smartphone stayed comparatively cool when idle and became lukewarm at best under load. Equipped with a mono speaker, the Huawei Mate 10 Lite offers a somewhat decent sound performance as long as volume remains at low to medium levels with fairly balanced mids and highs.

Higher levels of volume result in increased highs and decreased mids. Lows bass are absent regardless of volume level. Unlike the Nova 2, the Mate 10 Lite does not support high-resolution Bluetooth audio transmission via aptX.

However, the slightly smaller Galaxy S8 was even more efficient than our review unit. Combined with the somewhat decent yet not overly impressive power consumption, battery life is quite decent albeit shorter than expected.

That said, its closest competitors outran the Mate 10 Lite in pretty much every battery test we conducted. Huawei does however include various power saving presets that can help to improve battery life.

The smallest and most affordable member of the Mate 10 family turned out to be very interesting indeed. Apart from its name, the Mate 10 Lite has little in common with the Mate series in general.

It is, however, a fairly decent smartphone. Panel size aside the Huawei Mate 10 Lite has little in common with the other two members of the Mate family. It lacks NFC, the battery is smaller, the SoC is much slower, the Leica dual camera setup is nowhere to be seen, aptX for high-resolution Bluetooth audio is not supported and instead of Super Charge it only supports QuickCharge.

All things considered, it still turned out to be a fairly decent smartphone, particularly for those who prefer their smartphone screens to be big and massive. We would have wished for fewer compromises when compared with its two larger siblings though, and battery life could have been a bit better to boot.

AnTuTu v6 - Total Score sort by value. Samsung Galaxy A5 I can't haul my Leica gear all the time, but I always have the Mate 9 with me to take those once-in-a-lifetime pictures. Huawei's Mate 9 is already an excellent phone and camera.

The Mate 9 and Mate 10 are not just Leica-branded cameras. They indeed produce Leica-worthy pictures. I couldn't believe the quality pics over my previous Samsung S6, they're more vivid and sharper.

The Wide aperture setting creates photos as if from a mid-range camera. Speed and battery of this phone is just unbelievable. So far I'm very happy with this model. Yes, Huawei's Mate 9 is already an excellent phone and camera.

I had her phone because she was told by her IT friend at a work that she couldn't even install Google Play Store on it they tried and failed. Imagine a phone so crippled that you cannot even install the play store on it.

I don't know if North American Huawei products are so crippled and bloated I would guess not on the surface at least. If you go to China and want to buy Huawei phones cheap you better make sure you can root it first.

It would be interesting to know how much the Chinese government has invested to make sure you can't root I was looking at Huawei stuff in a Huawei shop while in Guangzhou. The salesperson thought it was not a good idea to buy a Huawei in China as it might not have the functions we in West are used to take for granted.

He knew what he was talking about. Perfect English, by the way. Watch out for those guys. They are getting dangerously good. Chinese smartphones made to sell in China don't have Google software because it's banned by the Chinese gov.

But usually you can buy the same phone made for the international or Global market, which has different firmware with Google software and support for different 4G bands.

And you can still save lot's of money ;. Yes they are very good even though their mother tongue isn't English. They study abroad, learn the native language better than the natives then return home to China and do what the Roman's do but better.

On paper, this thing should have better low-light IQ as having no color filter array on one of the sensor. Get a life, next to any true pro camera this device looks lack lustre.

In case this isn't a joke The phone is called the "Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Huawei Mate 10 Pro camera review. DPR isn't trying to call it a pro camera. It's funny how Koreans are all over the place in America but you are suspicious over the I wish I could say it more constructively, but I'm struggling to phase it, so I'll just come out and say it, I don't like the look of any of the sample photos, not one.

For some it's perhaps simple things like ugly harsh shadows or bright reflections, but even the shots that don't suffer those issues leave me cold. Something about how the different tone renderings don't seem to suit each other, or how the subjects don't stand out from their surroundings, and other things too, but as I say, I'm having trouble phrasing it.

I'm certainly not feeling any motivation to rush out and buy one, despite an overwhelmingly positive review. Yes, but it can be said about all phones? It negates your "Conclusion", which says "No microSD expansion".

Wireless charging requires additional chargepad which is an additional thing to be carried everywhere. It is useful when we have wireless charger pads in all places. Lack of wireless charger may sound like an absent feature, but it is not a show stopper IMO.

The USB charging port on my Note 5 stopped working a few weeks ago. It is out of warranty and with the new generation of phones coming soon, I thought of waiting a bit and replacing the phone all together.

In the meantime, I started using wirless charging. I grant you that it isn't as fast as conventional charging is, but it doesn't have to be. The idea is that you just leave your phone on a pad at night and at your desk, while working.

It is most often than not changing anyhow. It is so much more convenient, that I am annoyed that I haven't been using it since day 1 with this phone. You can't just connect it to the power bank and throw it back into your backpack.

You need to keep them aligned But that is because my USB port is broken. Other phones enjoy the best of two worlds. The colors of the sample images are awful Better dynamic range doesn't mean better color.

In their case the dynamic range comes at the expense of the colors. I think DXO should work on better more realistic method of comparing mobile image devises. Not sure if the given sample was different or they make different for US market.

This phone is more expensive than S8 Plus in Norway. Is it really worth it? And Note 8 is only Euros more. Is Huawei really worth the cost? I am thinking to upgrade my S7 Edge to Note 8 but probably will wait for S9 now.

If you want to have fake bokeh, go with the Mate. I just wish it had the bokeh mode like my Huawei Honor 8 did. The product images look crappy. I had to look up other reviews to get a feel about how it looks.

Don't like the design. It isn't very refined. The camera has an impressive score for stills over at DXO. But iq is still a far cry from a decent larger sensor camera.

I do think, the IQ is already almost maxed out, for this well-known, particular sensor size My colleague's don't brag anymore when they got the latest and greatest smartphone for fear they will have to compare their photo's with my DMC-CM1 which it invariably crushes.

That said, the camera implementations are mediocre at best you can take RAW's, but it takes forever to get your camera back and the phone part is getting long in the tooth The rest of the world is going metric, has been doing so for the past century, with a few exceptions, metric is on a steady expansion In fact I've been saying something similar for a while now; but it seems like manufactures rather do a dual camera setup than a better sensor setup.

Somebody on Youtube compared this phone's camera with the Nokia While the sensor on the Nokia is great, the lens is outdated. I think something like Nokia N8 would be nice. If only Nokia would release something similar with Android and a big battery.

And if the leaks are true, there will be 3 cameras at the back of Huawei latest P series supposedly for 5X zoom. I won't be surprised if in a few years, the back of Huawei phones will look like the Light L16 haha Wish to see more shots in portrait mode.

But the phone is not available in the US, it's pointless. This is definitely a very good phone and high on my list when I update my S7 Edge, although by then the Mate 11 will be out I suspect.

I have the P10 plus and bought a Mate 10 Pro for my son. Can't see myself buying Samsung anymore. The Huaweis are that good: The value price ratio with Huawei is phenomenal.

I got the Mate 10 not the pro for AUD and it came as a bundle with a free Huawei camera, free case and screen protector already on. No way I buy any Samsung or Google phones for the ridiculous prices they ask for.

Best feature is the dual sim or micro SD card slot. This allows up to GB extension for a low cost. Build quality has always been good, my daughter has been using the P9 plus since its first release in I suggest that DPR make it clear in big red letters right at the beginning if Micro SD slot is available in future, that would save me and a lot of people their time reading on.

It's only Apple phones and Google Pixel phones that don't offer expandable storage, isn't it? Please correct me if I'm wrong Self-corrected, no micro-SD card expansion.

Strange as to why not. I'd have thought that would make better use of a dual tray than for dual sim. This is so that the Pro model can have a IP67 water resistant rating.

It also does not have a 3. Like Note 8 and S8. However in a multi platform situation the cloud based solutions seem to me to be the better choice. Is this poetic alliteration with hyphenation?

What the hell is meant by Leica-branded? Do I hear an implicit hint of Leica quality without the Leica quality? And is Leica-hyphen-branded as legitimate as dual-hyphen-camera? It's not just the Leica label.

I have a Huawei Mate 9 and I must say it is extremely sharp and the colors produced are indeed characteristically Leica. It is a Leica-branded Leica-simulation, e. By the way, Huawei literally killed Samsung and Lenovo phones in China and Mate line is not "cheap" especially Porsche design ones lol.

I struggle to like the Android system. I remember I liked packaging of my Mate 9, and thought included shell case was a nice touch But the latter turned out to be much more than that -- it now lives on my phone and BTW provides extra protection for the camera lens, even thought I never used cases before.

The category is definitely a great have-nothing-else camera. Beats a pencil and sketch pad any day. Where do you live in China? In Shanghai, Huawei is going well in the lower end to perhaps mid market.

Basically bought by the migrant workers who value large screens and features over brand. In China, Samsung is still seen as the only credible product and brand against Apple's offerings.

Some rationale about SD on HuaweiS: I've got a card with the full discography of. How long it will take yo to go through GB of music? The following image was on the front page of Thom Hogan's site for several weeks up until few days ago:.

Well, it does seem to be sharp, but that bokeh!!.. I'd take Gaussian blur over those mirror lens-style rings any day. I wish the term "fake bokeh" is put to rest one day. Call it "simulated" or "computational" or invent a new, shorter term other then "fake".

Bokeh quality of many shots taken with my Mate 9 matches or exceeds that of shots taken with conventional lenses. Yes, sometimes there are issues sometimes even big issues, but look at the above-mentioned shot It's time to do mobile phones' cameras some justice, esp.

Seeing as less and less of the major competition are offering a headphone jack either, I doubt it will effect sales much. Odd though that just because a company doesn't make a product tailored entirely to you, you hope it makes said company fail?

Bit petty don't you think? And tried on my earbuds and BIG studio headphones if you care. I am aware that there is IP rated 3. By the way, I almost had the same "feeling" as you before I tried the dongle.

Even better, this phone with Android Oreo 8. And yes, wanting a company to fail because of one feature you don't like is pretty much the definition of petty.

I'll take having no wires on my daily commute vs. The EQing available in the app is even kind of fun. I guess that the apple pundits mean by "courage " perhaps the early adopters are You haven't yet produced any logical arguments though, just made inane rants that are becoming less and less relevant.

Quality is getting better, battery life is getting better and more and more people are moving to bluetooth headphones, especially whilst on the move where quality of sound is a lot less relevant.

Your points range from the fact they're not catering to the third world market, to bringing apple into a discussion about an android phone. Trying to address such inane ramblings point by point is an exercise in futility.

The headphone is an embedded worldwide standard In the scenarios where you are listening to music from a phone through headphones commutes, travel, cafes etc ambient noise renders the minute different in audio quality irrelevant.

There we go, one point addressed. And if you are not listening in sound compromised environments as you put it, you are almost certainly static and can use a DAC for properly decent audio, rather than going for a half assed approach with a 3.

I'm not saying worse audio would improve things, merely that the difference isn't discernible. Oh, you're reducing the entire spectrum of bluetooth headphones to ones made by apple and beats.

And there is the problem. Go try a decent pair and get back to me when you have. You even use the phrase "halfway decent" to refer to the DAC in the phone. You're arguing against yourself at this point you know so little of what you're saying.

Decent bluetooth headphones are superior to many wired headphones, especially combined with what you still at best call "perfectly useable dac". They are far from the worst listening experience.

I'm repeating myself in the hope you'll see why what you're saying is so inane; clearly it's not working. There isn't a need to abandon anything. There is no need for TVs to not still come with betamax players.

The fact is though why include something that an increasing majority doesn't use? Because the increasing majority don't use wired headphones anymore. C'mon man, you must be trolling me at this point?

You can't honestly be this dim? I don't see how it's a right. The headphone jack is naturally dying. If you want better quality than what a modern BT headphone can produce then a phones 3.

Any samples of the selfie-facing video camera, for the vloggers out there looking to buy that new Osmo 2? The image and video quality of this phone seem better than the frankly disappointing performance of my 8 Plus in those departments.

From what I have seen Huawei phone cameras are completely overrated. And nearly every review fails to show us more sample images from the other picture styles Huawei also offers a vivid mode. It shows some really lose it, but the majority are close.

When buying a phone these days, I think it's just a case of making sure it's not a lemon and run with it. I was shooting some casual portraits last night on low light over dinner. FF, ISO 25k, f2.

Damn it was dark, but they turned out pretty usable. The Fuji people would have wet themselves with the film like grain lol. Bless will be the day when Smartphones feature Multi-apect ratio sensors.

It makes no sense to shoot all pictures in 4: You can print and nobody forces you to pinch-to-zoom. And even when you zoom, you can drag the image. The other option is to buy a phone with a larger display.

A phone with The advantage of a multi aspect ratio sensor isn't big. You still get less megapixels and it's just a slightly larger horizontal field of view. I'd like to have the reviewer to spend time to show this feature "direct sharing to the Chinese Government".

Not even close guys. The phone was the same as the US version, but made for China market. It was loaded with software for China version which I could not replace.

All my text message was routed to a different server, not the same as the one my wife used US version, although we share the same data plan. The videos were stored in a server in China.

If you go to China, you will see more camera than birds. They snap your picture every time you enter and exit the freeway, multiple cameras for each lane. You need to simply think low tech man.

My wife asked me about tracking and such, and I explained to her that turning the phone off won't work, and not even necessarily removing the sim card. But what they do on TV or movies where they smash their phones Just carry aluminum foil on you.

It is the same reason where you see people walking around with those aluminum foil hats when they are paranoid and think that the government or aliens are reading or manipulating their minds.

When you wrap you phone in foil you essentially place it in a Faraday cage. My wife didn't believe me, so we gave it a test. It couldn't receive a call. Additionally connecting a call to my phone, and then with the line open wrapping it up in aluminum broke the connection.

The same goes with wifi. After all what Edward Snowden and Julian Assange told us, I cannot believe people are still concerned by being spied on by China.

I work for a high tech company, and personal phones and computers are not allowed on the network, because they can be a security vulnerability. The Chinese are known to hack in and steel tech.

After all, good luck dealing with patent infringement and such once the Chinese government has it. But other than that The US is more of a concern, because they are paranoid about terrorist threats, and of course their entertainment industry is out to get anyone with illegal content movies, music, and the like.

Here is the official changelog for the Huawei Mate 9's Android Oreo beta update that is rolling out to only customers in Germany. Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (/ ˈ hw ɑː ˌ w eɪ /; Chinese: 华为; pinyin: Huáwéi) is a Chinese multinational networking, telecommunications equipment, and services company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Even though we don't have a specific timeframe for the release of the update, the recent listing of the Mate 9 at Geekbench suggests it won't be long until Android Oreo will arrive on Huawei's high-end smartphone.

I was surprised too, tbh. It's currently inside my moto I'm just waiting for another watch with a sapphire crystal screen to replace my Huawei Watch. So far I'm disappointed. How long was it before previous generation watches stopped getting updated after dropped from AW 2.

I don't remember the last update I got on my SW3. Well, this is like some one go to the doctor and he says "You dont go to die, but you will have to be in a bed the rest of your life" Happy not happy i dont know if i explain.

It's like in the phones when they launch security updates but you stay in Ice Cream Sandwitch. The Huawei Watch can perfectly run Android Oreo and his improvements and no having minor "fake" updates.

Having your watch on a perfectly functional, but not technically most up-to-date, OS version is "laying in bed for the rest of your life"? Why did you buy the watch if it's equivalent to "laying in bed"?

This logic is stupid. You're claiming that the watch is useless now without the update, which means it must have been useless for the last two years as well. Well, i suppouse that you prefer still with Ice cream sandwich on you phone and not update to Kik kat beacause you have your phone "one a perfectly functional, but not technically most up to date os version" this YES is a stupid logic, your logic.

See, that's not what I said. I did not say "I don't want my devices on the latest software version". I said it's faulty logic to claim that your device is suddenly less functional than it currently was e.

This hue is exactly i want to say, the watch will be not all the funcional as it could be and this is sad because the Huawei Watch can perfectly run this major update. Also in my personal opinion i think the HW in the actual version software is not all fluid it can be I don't care about Oreo on my Gold on Black Moto 2nd gen.

I wear it mostly for it's look. Still getting compliments on the daily. I have no intention to buy another Android Wear watch anyway. Not only the platform is pretty useless, it's barely alive anyway.

AW is, at this time, pretty much dying, which cannot be said for the Apple Watch Such a missed opportunity, SMH. I know so many people rocking the ugly Apple Watch, while the greatly designed AW watches are falling due to their price and terrible software.

Google sucks at updates they said they didn't want OEMs to customize Android Wear so they can update the watches and now look at the Huawei Watch. And did you try OG Apple Watch with latest software?

It's laggy as hell and awful user experience. But I'm not talking about slight lag. I'm talking about lag, which in my eyes makes device pretty much unusable. But if you want to have unusable device with newest SW, that's your choice.

There will be always a new ones. But you cannot ask to update any device to by updated forever Well, almost every single android wear devices have a quad core processor with at least mb of ram and 4GB of storage.

Bringing up performance with that kind of specs is stupid. Lag does NOT make a device unusable. That would mean an S8 after a few months use would be unusable according to you. Might as well throw it out or give to it Goodwill!

You seem to be under the illusion that just because you are able to tolerate abysmal performance in exchange for higher security, others are too. Well, the Huawei Watch will not stop working.

I will continue to use mine. I only recently bought a Huawatch W1, because it's the best looking Wear, got it in the Black Friday sales, to replace my LG Urbane which is a great watch, but not as nice looking, and developed some visible dead pixel spots.

So I am not pleased that a watch which was still being sold is now being abandoned. I guess I will have to investigate hacking it to use a third party firmware or something.

There appears to be almost no OEM customization of each watch, they all use the same damn SoC, and yet we're already seeing fragmentation in updates. This is fucking ridiculous.

Keep in mind the the OG Apple Watch came out in with a weak processor and Apple still has it up to date. This is all on Google and no one else. Android Wear was going to solve this problem, yet it doesn't.

Android one was going to solve this problem, yet it doesn't. What makes you think treble will be any different? It will still need OEM attention. Right now OEMs have the possibility of pushing out phones with Android 7 to work around having to put in treble OnePlus 5t, but if there's treble built in, they would still need to put in work to update.

You can also avail this. Treble is in another level, because you can switch to AOSP with tiny effort compared to before treble. If they put basic stuff in the vendor partition and all the shitty custom magic in the custom android If this is correct at least for camera..

All this only matters if you give a damn about aosp. I'd rather OEMs put effort into adding functionality and making monthly security updates not wasting time on a super niche of a niche feature.

I'd rather OEMs just do the work once instead of reinventing the wheel every single time they need to do an update. Modularizing all the system bits would help with that, not just a "super niche of a niche feature".

I agree with we need more smooth user experiences instead of something 'new' but laggy. X, that's why users like me are expecting some new versions could fixed it Tho I doubt it will.

Even the Apple Watch Series 2 lags a lot on the newest software. I had one about a month ago and it was pretty bad. The Moto v2 has the most up-to-date software as well, or at least did until a week ago when Oreo was announced for watches.

Difference is when the OG Apple Watch loses support there's zero, zilch, nada. Android Wear can still receive new features via the Play Store, so Android Wear wins in this regard, hands down. But they don't all use the same SoC - the older Snapdragons are excluded, once again, along with the Intels.

The Snapdragon Wear is basically a Snapdragon with a mild clock boost. There is no reason to exclude them. Either Google or Asus is an asshole here and I am quite frankly too pissed to differentiate the two at this point.

I'm just giving up on Android Wear and I will be gladly telling everyone I know that this is a platform to avoid entirely. Came here to say this. This is why nobody trusts your platform Google.

This is why Android Wear will die a sad lonely death. OS updates, whether on phone or wearable, don't mean nearly as much for Android as they do for Apple.

Android is heavily modularized, so most aspects of the software still get updated regardless of what version of the OS a device is on. The only stuff that outright needs an OS update are little things that really only hardcore Android fans will even notice for the most part, since practically none of them are really big flagship user-facing features.

On Apple devices, however, basically everything requires an OS update, so a device not receiving OS updates really does mean it is no longer getting any new features. That's all well and good when using a mature version of Android on a phone.

Android Wear, on the other hand, is - at best - in its Eclair period of development. I think Android Wear 2. And again, this wasn't supposed to be an issue with Android Wear.

The two aren't really the same thing. It's not like Google is actually adding anything with Android Wear update in the future anyway. I doubt we'll see much of anything new with Android Wear in the future.

Google clearly has their focus in other areas. Never had Android before. Like a race car, kind of buggy but I like it. Pretty Interesting hearing you guys. Apple's hardware might get updates longer than Android but the phones brick from going useless from said updates.

When I heard Apple say they removed the din port because of courage and then did their shenanigans with cost and not included essential accessory. Cant deny the fluidity and ecosystem is slick.

The apple watch sucks imho. I want the LG sport watch, sounds well equipped but seems wearables have a way to go till any of them are significant. Any comments on that watch?

And with no good reason. Hasn't the hardware been the same since launch with the exception of the new side buttons or LTE on some watches. This is just planned obsolescence for no reason.

They are watches not phones, they should be supported longer. I guess my G watch R will be my last one. Apart from cool watch faces and notifications, there is not much reason for it.

I've made this suggestion to another poster regarding their Asus Zen Watch 3. Google has completely failed their original promise for Android Wear. At this point I hope it fails as a platform so they can actually learn something.

No Asus watches are getting it? Not even the ZW3? Which came out only like a year ago? Further reinforces why I will never buy another of their products. I'm upgrading to a Misfit Vapor.

Good timing and it seems to be exactly what I want coming from the Moto v2 especially 50m water resistance! Not a good look el goog. You really oughta do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn't happen.

I can't buy another one if they get dropped this fast. Would Project Treble help with this? And since OEMs don't customize Wear I assume Treble would be part of Oreo Android Wear, but I'm not sure if Google will update the existing watches or if that would help with updates at all.

No, that is unlikely, especially for existing models. Treble requires repartitioning, which is why OnePlus isn't doing it on existing devices due to the risk of bricking.

If they are worried about phones being able to do it successfully, I don't imagine any OEM is going to try it on a watch. One Plus made a comment recently they wouldn't upgrade their current devices as messing with the partitions needed to add Treble could potentially brick phones.

I would imagine watches would have a similar issue. I just bought a ZW3 and it's already dropped from support? You have to be kidding me It's still being supported with Android Wear updates, the underlying Android system just won't be updated to Oreo.

But the value isn't there now: The Ticwatch E has more features and is cheaper. I was buying a brand name and look and now it's even more worthless than the other device I wonder if I should try to return it to Amazon Which would be fine if AW 2.

Was hoping Oreo might undo that. Luckily I can cancel my pending Zenwatch 3 order. Shame on Asus for letting me down but I am not surprised, they were unhappy with sales.

If i were you i would worry much more about the NSA getting your data than the chinese counterpart. Honestly, most of the people I see with their phones in my office building 22 floors do not use a case.

Same with kids I see using them. So is Monochrome mode actually using a Monochrome sensor like the Leica Monochrom? Would be awesome if the monochrome could disengage the IR filter and also feature a RGB filter wheel.

Landscapes and architecture would be super resolution awesome and also for scientific applications in infrared. Otherwise Huawei selling well in other parts of world, and already exceeded Apple as world 2nd largest cellphone seller.

Must be small, max. If I want a paddle I'll buy a paddle! You want best or you want small? Manufacturers are not going to invest big money in niche markets. Anyway, try pixel 2 not xl.

Dheorl Seeing as less and less of the major competition are offering a headphone jack either, I doubt it will effect sales much. The reason of removing 3. Dheorl You're right, the entire human race clearly uses wired headphones Dave Sanders daqk I think the main complaint is that even amazing Bluetooth is still equivalent to very mediocre wired, let alone the audio atrocity that is the AirPods.

Dheorl You haven't yet produced any logical arguments though, just made inane rants that are becoming less and less relevant. Dheorl Ok, you're clearly just delusional. I'm done here, ciao.

Dheorl Your points range from the fact they're not catering to the third world market, to bringing apple into a discussion about an android phone. Dheorl In the scenarios where you are listening to music from a phone through headphones commutes, travel, cafes etc ambient noise renders the minute different in audio quality irrelevant.

Dheorl And if you are not listening in sound compromised environments as you put it, you are almost certainly static and can use a DAC for properly decent audio, rather than going for a half assed approach with a 3.

Dheorl You even use the phrase "halfway decent" to refer to the DAC in the phone. Dheorl Decent bluetooth headphones are superior to many wired headphones, especially combined with what you still at best call "perfectly useable dac".

I'm keeping to together just fine, you seem to be the one arguing with yourself. Dheorl I'm repeating myself in the hope you'll see why what you're saying is so inane; clearly it's not working.

Dheorl Because the increasing majority don't use wired headphones anymore. And thank you, it was done as part of my physics undergrad. Dheorl The headphone jack is naturally dying.

GabrielZ The image and video quality of this phone seem better than the frankly disappointing performance of my 8 Plus in those departments. Photato Bless will be the day when Smartphones feature Multi-apect ratio sensors.
